I suppose this question has already been answered.

Right now, the Shockers have committed 11 scholarships for '12-'13.

If the point guard transfer, Malcomb Armstead, is given a scholarship, then the committment will be 12 scholarships.

If Ellis and Cleanthony are signed, what will be the source of the needed scholarship.

In other words, who goes without?

I know that sounds snarky, but I think that's the reality of the current state of college basketball recruiting.

Too early to speculate, Ricky. All we know is the point with which you started: there are currently 11 scholarships committed for 2012-3.

Until the commitments for this coming year turn into signed letters of intent -- and, of course, until we know who else commits -- and until we know what happens with Armstead during his playing year in 2012-3, it's all pure guesswork, at least for us (as opposed to the coaches, who may have an idea). So just relax and enjoy; all will be revealed in due time.

As far as I know the Shocker's are not on Winslow's radar. He is probably a top 10 recruit BTW.

In the Bradley game towards the end, we had all of our new players in and they were solid. 13 deep? That is rare and look at the walk-ons. WOW!!! With our awesome class coming in, and our 3 walk ons, it will help reload next Season after losing 5 solid Seniors. That is why I hope to see all 13 players develop all Season which will ease the pain of losing 10 Seniors in 2 Seasons.

Based upon the number of potential scholarship players for next season, will the Shockers have to expand the locker room to make space for 15-17 scholarship players?

What are some factors that make a successful Coach like Coach Marshall excel? Solid recruiting, red shirts, and Assistant Coaches that also have the ability, connections, and passion to also help bring in solid recruits. However, there is still one more area that comes to mind and that is the way this Staff reviews our ships each and every Season's end. Honesty prevails at times like these and it is a guidepost for clear direction for both our Players and our Program.

With that said, next Season after losing still another 5 Seniors for the 2nd Season in a row, we have some good returning players, 3 of our best walk-ons ever, and our incoming best Recruiting Class under the Marshall Plan. Will will have 1 or 2 ships left to give? Dunno but I like what I see in terms of moving forward as a 'year in year out' respected Program that is gaining momentum.

Today, I was out and around with my WSU garb on and a gentleman informed me how fun the Shox have been to watch this Season and then he said "This Coach Marshall can really coach. We would be in trouble if he left." I have KU fans tell me similar type statements. In the scheme of things, I am just enjoying the ride for now and am so happy our local team is back in the National Scene in March. Now it is time for our beloved Shox to make some noise while the sparkling lights are glowing on our Program, as we punch our ticket to The Dance with The Stars in March.

We are approaching another signing time in April. We have read that we may sign 1 or 2 more. If you had your choice, who are the 2 you would sign and why? Since we already have a banner class, this will be an interesting topic as we reload in an attempt to make the Dance a more commonplace rather than a 6 year wait.

Wiggens and Patton. They are a great combination of talent, positional need, and junior class fillers. Also, they seem interested, which helps.

He won't be a senior until next year. K State was the favorite because his brother played there, but he hasn't committed.

IMO, if there are to be two signings, I'd like to see Tony Gill and Nick Wiggins.

A juco big makes sense to help replace rebounding losses (less than 50% of our rebounds returning) and to cover another year of development from Deontae Hawkins and Henry Uwadiae after Carl and Ehimen leave. The 6-9, 225 lb. Gill (who, incidentally, is Indian -- first name "Tejvir") isn't quite the space-eater that Chris Patton is, but he's undoubtedly more skilled as a scorer with range out to three-point land (38% on 51/132). He also hits his free throws (78% on 128/164). If we can't lure him away from the west coast, Patton could also work in this role.

Wiggins gives us wing scoring to replace Smith, Kyles and Murry. Although he wasn't tremendous in the National Tournament from three, he had a good year from out there (40% on the season) and is probably better going to the hole than Smith and Kyles in the small sampling of games I've seen online.
