And I have to say the live stats that were available for the West Preliminiries in Austin beat the hell out of what is available this weekend which is kind of surprising.

From the delay, it would seem the fall, and perhaps subsequent injury is serious enough to cause a more than little delay. Hunter is next in the order, and still hasn't jumped by all accounts.

Would love to hear he clears this height on jump 1 with the distractions.

Hope the CSU youngster is not hurt too badly. A delay of any kind is not really very helpful.

Hunter has cleared 4.71 (15-5.5) good for 822 points but he can go higher.

That didn't take long. Hunter clears 4.81 (15-9.25) and has secured 852 points. Now it gets a bit interesting (as if almost no heighting wasn't).

The results I am looking at has veith clearing 4.81. With him and Williams the only 2 left.

Hunter unable to go any higher. Finsihes at 4.81m (15-9.25) for 852 points. Good solid effort especially after almost no heighting.

On to the javelin with presumably little rest.

Hunter sets a new PR on his 2nd throw in the javelin at 55.95m (183-6).

Hunter is in 5th place with 7,293 points only 5 points out of 4th place. He has a 68 point lead over the 6th place finisher and is 286 point away from 9th place. His chances of a Top 8 finish and 1st team All-America honors pretty good but what do I really know. Not much.

A 5:01 flat would tie Austin Bahner's school record of 7,847 points. A PR of 4:53.5 would be needed to tie the All-Time Valley record of 7,891.

An extremely unlikely and unexpect 4:35.8 would put him at 8,000 points.

A time of 5 flat sounds pretty good to me. I would take that in a heartbeat.

The 1,500 is scheduled to start at 8:56 CDT. Not sure if there will be TV or a video stream for this event. Not that I can tell but you might check the ESPN channels around 8:45 and see what they have cooking.
