Drake vs. WSU game thread

When you've got a guy averaging over 50% of his 3's, I'd think you'd WANT that player shooting them.

So Kyles missed a few and maybe dropped his average all the way to 48%.

48% of 3 > 50% of 2.

Why is Kyles supposed to stop jacking up 3's?

If he was Reggie Chamberlain talent, yea, jack up the 3's. If we think Kyles will realistically shoot 50% from 3 all year, there is some real estate...well you know the story. Come on, you're telling me that a guy with Kyles talent should be jacking up all those 3's. He is a better player than that. Look at the overall picture, don't get tunnel vision.

Drake fans seemed pretty pleased they only lost by 19.

I'm not sure pleased is the right word....probably more "surprised". The game was certainly closer than I expected, at least it was until the last 5 minutes or so.

If you had told me before the game that Drake would have one of their better shooting games and that Toure, David, Graham and Joe would be a combined 6-28 from the field and then gave me Drake and 19 points.......

or if you bet me the Shocks would break 80 points for the game as we were sitting on 15 points 14 minutes into the 1st half and shooting about 21% from field unable to finish in close or hit anything from the perimerter......

well, I'd probably be homeless about now.

Love the production we are getting from the bench. Garrett, Demetric, Ben and Gabe go 12-20 plus a 3-4 effort from Aaron. Very happy to see D-Will getting back on track. He brought great energy and confidence to the floor tonight.

Rice hit Demetric with an elbow above the numbers, checking to make sure it wasn't intentional.

I didn't think that was reviewable but really I have no clue what can be reviewed.

They were watching the Sugar Bowl. They just happened to start watching just when they went to commercial and had to wait for it to come back on. When it came back on the excitement got to them and they lost track of time.

I don't think that was it. I think the time you were referring to is when there was a foul called on WSU out front where Drake was setting a ball screen, and they got confused on who actually got fouled. They first put one guy at the line, and then then they waved that off and put another dude at the line.

I don't think that was it. I think the time you were referring to is when there was a foul called on WSU out front where Drake was setting a ball screen, and they got confused on who actually got fouled. They first put one guy at the line, and then then they waved that off and put another dude at the line.

That was the 2nd one. The first one they reviewed was because of the elbow. If they decided it was thrown with intent they could give him a T and eject him from the game. Or something like that. The NCAA wants to try and make sure dirty shots like that are taken care of. I think from the POV of the calling official he couldn't be 100% sure how it was thrown, but knew it connected and was a foul.

I want to highlight this again, because a lot of people seem to be missing it.

Ben Smith has MORE MINUTES than Graham Hatch in the last three games.

We can now all stop requesting that Ben Smith get more minutes than Graham Hatch. Coach knows what's up and is making the necessary adjustments in the game.

For those arguing about the starting line-up: listen to our coach. The starting line-up is pretty inconsequential in the long-term, especially with this team. We're going 10 deep, and its much more about rotations.

I agree… even my ole eyes can see some talent. It still boggles my mind how they were beat twice earlier this season by over 40 points. The Drake fans say it’s coaching and it could be; however I didn’t see any problems with his X’s and 0’s last night.
