Come on, Steele, lighten up. I've taken my shots at the Cat, too -- and no doubt will in the future as well -- but how is what he said one-upsmanship? All he was doing was observing that he sees the Cobras regularly and thinks they're great. What's wrong with that?

Do you have a pipe band in Wichita? Nothing gets my blood going more than listening to the pipes. Of course being that I have a Great Kilt, I'm probably into Celtic music more than the average person.

Just googled it. Wichita Caledonian Pipes and Drums band. They would definitely be a change of pace.

Absolutely, my Uncle used to play in a pipe band in Wichita. When he first started, I have to admit, it was like listening to small animals being tortured; however, he is much, much better now. Actually, he played at my sister’s wedding.

So far, for local and should be reasonably cheap entertainment, I think we got:

1) local dunk contest championship
2) alumni game
3) bag pipe bands
4) Marching Cobras
5) frisbee dogs
6) basketball instruction school talent show
7) shockerfever and crew dogpile on bcscat

Sounds like a good lineup already.

IIRC, someone within the athletic department regularly monitors Shockernet to obtain a pulse on the fan base. If not, they should be. The knowledge here can be overwhelming at times. :D

Seriously, several of you would be valuable serving on an athletic “think tank” where your ideas could be shared with the athletic department. I would also suggest a designated Shockernet thread where members could provide athletic and general university suggestions, constructive criticism, etc.

Last year didn't we have a team of BMX riders / skateboarders who did flips off of ramps setup on the court? I thought that one was pretty cool.
