If it was the game out at the Cow Palace, that would have been the 2002-03 season. And yes, K-State won that game.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

WSU is considered the 'new kid' on the block in the state of Kansas. We're an upstart, so to speak, a red headed stepchild in the world of basketball, and that is not going to change anytime soon. There is no sense in perpetuating that sterotype on a daily basis on here.
All of you guys go on about playing KU or KSU in basketball, but the truth is that, most likely, we would get beat. Would that make you feel any better? They are not going to risk their rank and file position within the state by playing us, and we need to GET OVER IT.
Some of you HARP so much on here, you begin to sound like Rodney Dangerfield. The only way we are going to get that respect we feel like we deserve is TO WIN THE BALL GAMES ... period. Getting to the Sweet Sixteen in '06 got us a lot of respect and recognition, and helped our recruiting efforts, not to mention, we might not have gotten HCGM without it.
We have to EARN that respect... period. What have we done lately to earn it? Sure, we went 25-10 last year, and I wanted us in the Big Dance as much as anyone, but we ended up letting one player from Nevada beat us in the NIT in the FIRST GAME, a dismal failure in my eyes. Is that team ball, to let one player beat you?
Let's do our talking on the court, and all things we deserve will happen accordingly.

Snapshot you have just gone on a rant and then came to a conclusion based on the rant that I'm guessing a lot of people on here don't agree with. We might get beat by KU most of the time but I don't see us getting beat by K-State most of the time, but, the point is, if they are so damn superior, why would they be taking a chance by playing us. Anytime you don't play another team because you are afraid to lose...YOU ARE NOT PLAYING A TEAM BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID TO LOSE...I.E.CHICKEN!
"UPSTART" "Redheaded Stepchild" I don't know anyone that talks about us like that. Not even arrogant ass KU fans refer to us in that manner in the very few occasions that they refer to us at all.
In short, don't rag on shockernetters. Let's stay unified. I don't consider anybody here as whining to much but this post is sure to yield a crack from KC.

Don't like to remember when KU showed they didn't have a pair when offered a one and done at Allen on national tv and turned it down. KSU while being highly rated preseason this year, what have they done lately other than a player wetting himself on national tv to be some up and mighty.
KU might deserve a 2-1 and KSU is a 1-1-1. The third 1 alternating between KC and Wichita at IBC. If the schools don't gwow up the guys in Topeka may decide to make it so.

I especially like the part about the Sweet 16 getting us recruiting results. We ended up with 2 empty recruiting classes after the S16. We're still recruiting JuCo players to try and fix that. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

What has WSU done to earn others respect exactly? Other than "KU lost to two MVC teams in the last 5 years".
I have no qualms with KSU or KU playing WSU. Put it at IBA (best option, imo), Koch, Allen, wherever. I'd like to see it, especially since WSU has a good squad this year.
