Here's the deal. We predicted early on we would have our growing pains and need time to get adjusted and hitting off all cylinders. No doubt PJ had an off game, but he WILL have a very solid season. We had some bright spots tonight, but Baylor made the big shots when it counted, and we didn't. Let's just win out from here in this tourney and know we will have our best moments the last half of the Season when it counts the most. From the words of Sub-----"I am NOT worried!!!!!!!" I still say we will exceed our record of last year and move forward this Season.

I have small concern that keeps popping up in my head, and I know it's been discussed on here before. But...
We appear to be an athletic team. But good athletes don't win basketball games. We can run and jump with the best of them...but if we can't put the ball in the hole what does it matter? Hopefully these guys can turn into good basketball players and scorers, too. Some people would prefer to have a team full of PJ's....who can hang with the best of them on the defensive end and physically...but who you probably can't rely on at the offensive end.
Where is our scoring going to come from this year? I'm just having a hard time figuring out who is capable of stepping up. We used to know Sean was capable of getting hot and potentially putting up 20+ a few games in a row and the same with Kyle.
No panic. We'll get better. But just how much better is my concern (this year.)

I've seen us rain 3's for 3 games, we have one "cold" night, and some of you are freaking out.
It happens; we just didn't have any margin for error with Baylor.
We will lose more than 1 game this year, it doesn't mean we don't have "basketball" players and it doesn't mean the offense is terrible."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."

Too bad we did not beat George Mason in Wichita. They got hot at the right time, and made us pay both inside and out when they were here, otherwise they never would have even seen the Dance, other then from home.
However, GM got hot---real hot-- at the Dance. Just as the Baylor guards made the big shots last night, GM guards were unconscience against us and was hitting shots at a torrid pace at the Dance.
Right now, we are searching for our niche as a team. It will be next Semester before we really start to make heads roll and raise eyebrows at the pace we will be capable of. No doubt in FSF's steel trap pea brain, WSU will out-perform what we accomplished last year this very Season. If that be true, then That is progress and we are heading to places we again want to go in our constant search for the basketball promised land.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

The Baylor game was a really weird one - I would recommend any shocker fan to check out the box score. The things that stand out to me are:
The Shocks out rebounded Baylor by a significant margin.
PJ going 1-10 is unexpected. Most of those misses were from the 3 point line so I'm thinking he is still adjusting to the move back.
The only player that really is efficient on offense right now is JT Durley. Nine points in 13 minutes going 4-8 is far better then anyone else on the team. Wonder if he did something to anger the coach - was given quite a bit less playing time then what he got versus APB.

Dont worry scoring will come as each player adapts to D1. You know the old freshman become sophmore thing. With more confidence comes more people willing to take the shot. If we continue with great D and great hustle, I predict nice things by midseason.
