When even all the CBS and ESPN guys are saying that UNI has the best basketball in Iowa (and has for 10 years) and then pulls scoreboard to demonstrate their point...
...Iowa isn't a very interesting job.

They better hire a great recruiter with connections somewhere other than Iowa, but why would a coach with those credentials want to go to Iowa?

The new coach sure won't have any trouble convincing recruits that there's PT available.

        • Is this the same Boylen they are talking about for the Iowa job? It must be....and I ll use that strategery to bring Jordan Cyphers to the main page...

Sophomore guard Jordan Cyphers was granted a release from the program Wednesday, his father, Mike Cyphers said. And junior forward Matt Read also has left the team.

Cyphers, named Mr. Basketball for the state of Kansas as a high school senior, played in 16 games, averaging 8.4 minutes and 2.9 points and 0.9 rebounds. He also had nine turnovers and three assists.

Boylen declined to comment specifically on Cyphers' transfer but confirmed that Read also was departing. Read played in 16 games averaging 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds and 6.7 minutes a game.

"Ideally you don't want to have any players leave your program," Boylen said of Read. "But we wish them the best."

Mike Cyphers said his son was released without any restrictions and that Boylen offered to help Jordan find a new program.

But the elder Cyphers said he was also displeased with how things turned out.

Cyphers originally was recruited by Wichita State, Illinois and George Mason, among other schools, according to his father. But Mike Cyphers said that Boylen told him that Jordan turned the ball over too much and was a bad fit for his offense and scheme -- an explanation that he said he found insufficient.

"The bad thing about it is he just didn't trust [Jordan] enough," Mike Cyphers said. "I asked him, 'What is there to trust when what you've got out there is giving you absolutely nothing?'"

          • This is the same Boylen. But that is some interesting news. I wonder where Cyphers is thinking about going. He was a heck of a player in high school.

I think it was reported that he will be graduating this spring and then heading to play pro ball in europe. I could be wrong.

                    You're thinking of Casey Crawford.

                    • Casey Crawford is a Top 5 NBA draft pick. Ask him..he'll tell you.

NO way he lowers himself to playing overseas...unless they offer him the BronBron cool $50 mil.
