How many expected Murry to be a First Team All-Conference member this year?

Will Murry even make honorable mention All-Conference this year?



Answer these two questions please.

I can't answer #1 because I don't know anybody's but your expectations.

As to HM, most likely not.

Now 3 questions for you:
1. What does that have to do with IMPROVEMENT over llast year?
2. Was he all-conference last year? NO!
3. Was he all-conference HM last year? NO!

There were some lofty expectations of Murry this year. Here's the first thread I came across when looking back.. All-Valley was dropped..

He wasn't All-Conference last year but he was All-Conference HM Preseason this year. I guess others outside of SN thought he was gonna be a factor as well.

I'm not meaning to single the kid out; it's just he's falling short of expectations in my and a lot of people's books. It's a bit disappointing. If anybody can't understand that, then they've got issues. I'm fine with leaving it at that.

I will repeat the question:

1. What does that have to do with IMPROVEMENT over last year?

Statistically, he's slightly better. I'm curious to know if he's been statistically better in Valley only games compared to last year. In both years, he was pretty much road no-shows. That's not an improvement.

Going from second in FOY voting to reasonably be expecting an All-Valley HM was fair and I think if he improved enough, he would get HM.

While Murry has helped us throughout the year, there have been some key moments at the end of games this year that he flaked out on compared to similar situations last year. I dunno, maybe that's more on the guy in charge putting him in the clutch situation instead of other alternatives. Who knows?

We see differently on this. We better agree to disagree now before things get nasty. And after a good showing for Shocker athletics this weekend, I feel no need to carry this further.

So to repeat, I'm fine with leaving this at this.

...............but has anyone heard anything about GS's ankle. Although he played well, he was still gimping around in the second half.

At one point I was expecting Murry to be all-league. That was before the season and before I checked who was returning to teams in the Valley other than WSU.

Any So who could make first team Valley this year would be a legitimate NBA candidate by the time he graduates. There were a lot of Jr and Sr guards who are pretty salty players.

Actually, Murry had a really great year except for a few games. Those games were grouped, coincided with WSU hitting a bit of a slump, and were fairly recent. It is easy to notice the problems and overlook the bulk of the season, which was not a problem.

I'm glad somebody brought up this topic. I have an unfortunately comprehensive knowledge of everything related to ankle injuries, and after watching the multiple replays I have to believe that Garrett is going to be dealing with at least a minor ankle issue for the rest of the season, and that it won't heal fullly until it's rested for a couple of weeks.

The main reason I say this is because he appeared to be wearing braces, and there's no way to know if he was taped underneath.

My point is that although the angle of his foot was awkward and he did have a decent amount of weight on it, someone with a 100% healthy ankle underneath external stabilization like braces and/or tape wouldn't be limping off the court (especially not Garrett, who seems to have a pretty hefty pain threshold - I think a lot of guys would have stayed down). I could also notice it still affecting him later in the game.

I hope I'm wrong about him wearing braces or tape, because there wouldn't be anywhere near the implication (although I can't think of a good excuse for a big man to not be taped and/or braced).

Hopefully it won't become an issue, but I don't think he'll be able to call it 100% until next season.

Here's hoping 6 days of rest have a positive impact and that he doesn't tweak it in practice.
