    I think you meant walk-ons.
I hope so! How awful would it be to burn a red shirt on the final game of the regular season?

Let me get this straight, you criticize when Toure' jacks up a bunch of shots instead of feeding the post. Then when we have a game where Toure' doesn't hunt for his shot at all (takes only 5 shots and hits 40%), is second on the team in rebounds, and plays good defense on Tony Freeman and you criticize him for that. He had two turnovers in the game (one less than Clevin and Demetric and the same as Graham and JT), yet you feel a need to single that out, for no apparent reason

What is your problem? His shot isn't falling for him right now, so you ask him to quit shooting. He does and you criticize him for never getting into the game.

If you are going to call out MTXE for making stupid criticisms of a sophomore big man with Stutz, maybe you need to call yourself out for making stupid criticisms of a sophomore guard in Murry.

Seemed like a fair observation from Fever. Not overly harsh.

Toure was the only one who didn't seem to be on his 'A game' today. He did do some nice things on defense.

I think we all just want to see TM regain his confidence and play well again.

It might be a fair observation if it hadn't been coupled with previous complaints about Toure' hunting for his shot when he has been struggling, or with criticizing Toure's play this year and dismissing the fact that Toure' has been statistically better in almost every category than he was a year ago.

Is Toure' struggling right now? Yes (mostly because he is putting too much pressure on himself to single-handedly win games). However, this game was precisely what we need out of Toure'. He wasn't scoring, but he didn't hunt for his shot and he played good defense and rebounded the ball. There is a difference between not scoring well and not playing well. Toure' played fine in this game.

What does it say about SIU that it's a team you get well against? In their heyday you'd be happy with a 46-44 nailbiter. They have really fallen off.

Oh well their loss, our gain. Let's get 'em in the 'lou. Also, loved Durley and Stutz in together. Hope to see that combo for another six or so games this season.

It was never in doubt because Clev sent a message with those first two shots. He basically walked over to the bench and said "with all due respect, this isn't going to be a game; this will be a shocker showcase today."
              LOL

Yeah basically. It was deep frozen before it started!

There was a quote on SalukiTalk that the game should have been called at 3-0 WSU.

I have to say (gulp) that I feel a little sorry for SIU fans. Their team has sure fallen a long way in just a couple of seasons. They should never have abandoned their hardcore defensive philosophy, which in my opinion was one of the best in the country. Things change, but you'd think that they wouldn't let that part.

It's good to see we've gotten our mojo back.

                    1. Stutz is gonna end up being pretty darn good.

                    2. Intensity and effort...good things happen!

                    3. Demetric will be a 25 min per game guy next season, easy.

                    4. Kenny throws some lazy passes, but he can sure get to the hole.

                    5. If Mason Felter stays around, he could contribute pretty well in another season or two.

                    6. I saw Silent Bob walking to the men's room. I said good afternoon to him. Naturally, he did not answer.

                    7. I think the window may be closed for Lowery to move up.

                    8. Thanks for everything, Clevin.

                    • I don't think they have abandoned their defense, they just don't have the horses to implement it.

It's no secret Lowery has recruited higher ranked, skilled offensive players over the last few years at the expense of defensive toughness.

It is an experiment that has not gone well so far.

                          3. That will depend a lot on who we sign.

                          4. I'll have to see him play more to be able to agree.

                          Spot on with the rest!!

See, I just don't buy that. The strength of the SIU defense was always in their rotation, which has more to do with hard work and smart play that raw athleticism.

But even if you think it needs athleticism, in theory SIU has been bringing in big time athletes for several years in a row. As many SIU fans have complained, the problem appears to be that Lowery is failing to develop these players and teach them how to play that defense.

When he had guys that had learned to play that defense under Weber and Painter, they still played that way. Now that no player in the program was taught by those coaches, that defense has disappeared. I don't think it is a coincidence.

                            • How weird was it to watch a game against SIU and never have the feeling they were going to make a run?

                              That just felt wrong.

But wrong can feel so good! ;)
