      Thoughts on Shocker Madness...

Mostly a ho-hum event, except for the dunk contest. I think we have some athletic upgrades.

Based on the 20 minute scrimmage I have the following observations:

AJ Hawkins appears to be a nice player. Too bad he can't play this season.

JT looked mobile and made some nice plays down low.

Arbry demonstrated the ability to jump elbow height over the rim...and brick a 10' jumper. I wouldn't expect major minutes from him.

Preadom was knocking down the jumper like he did in preseason last year. If he has the confidence to shoot it in games he'll be an added dimension.

Our best players are Couisnard, Brauer, Mekel, Preadom and maybe Durley. Could be that they were looser because a scrimmage in front of 6,000 semi-interested fans doesn't get them nervous.

At the end of the day it was hard to tell much from 20 minutes of scrimmage. Overall we're taller from position to position. You could certainly run a platoon of 6'6" and up players at 3,4, and 5. Goes without saying we could use a true 5.

I thought Thomasson looked alright, and I thnk we got an absolute steal in Ellis. Hatch has a great shot, and for a walk on I was impressed with Michaels. Going forward though Clemente will be our next best player after Couz.

I think ramon is one of better players, that dude just doesnt quit until the ball is in the hoop. I was prolly impressed with him the most out of anybody, besides cousinard (which i expect him to do good). I talk to schauss before the event about ramon and he said he expects him to start.

            Clemente impressed.

JT definitely looks trim and looked nice. He also has a nice shot with a little range.

            Thomasson looked alright.

I liked Ellis. We have a player there.

Hatch does have a nice shot.

            Mekel looked fine.

Griskenas didn't do a whole lot but I still expect a lot out of him.

            Didn't really notice Burley.

Butler is still an athlete. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.

Lets see Preadom carry that shot over to the season. He didn't last year.

Hawk will be a NICE player next season.

            We need Ehimen.

            Braeuer is Braeuer.

            :poster_cooz: :yahoo:

            The dunk contest was nice.

Couz finally found an arch to his shot. If he shoots like he did tonight through the season he will be valley POY.

Also, is it just me or is it hard to tell Burley and Griskenas apart?

Does anybody NOT expect Ramon to start?

ramone will start and is a beast. hawkins ups are unbelievable.. mantas looked a little hesitant but if he opens up i think he's are 2nd best player because Cooz is still Cooz. Ellis looks like a great pickup... oh and love CGM's personality

PJ was a man amongst boys.
Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Clemente looked great and can really add up rebounds fast

Ellis looks to have a lot of ability, but his shot needs a little work

Cooz went 3 for 4 from behind the arc so he will probably be playing at SG

Griskenas was nothing great from what i saw tonight but that could change

I'm nitpicking but PJ was 3 of 5 I believe. He air balled one early then missed one late. Still, I'd take 60 percent :D

I thought Griskenas looked a bit timid out there. I expect he'll be fine by the time the season comes around though.

                              my thoughts

Black team did not look so good outside of Matty B and Ramo.

                              I love Ramo

                              PJ = Sean Who??

This team has a swag about them.

                              White team looked pretty good.

Gal didnt hesitate on his shot.

                              I love Ramo

Aj won the dunk contest I dont care what you say. Ramo was awesome but on a "tech" side of things AJ looked better. But either way that was the best thing I have seen in years.

                              I love Ramo.

Ellis and Butler looked really skinny

                              I love Cooz X 20

                              Gregg Marshall is really tall.

Did anybody else have this feeling in there gut when the chopper was coming down Don Hall was going to say "Hey look who made it here just in time Shocker Madness its Orupke!!!" But when he didnt come out it wasnt that bad of a let down because bringing in the game ball that way was just flipping awesome?!?

We finally saw a picture of Orupke.

JT Durley is going to cause of mismatches in a very big way this year, with the way he can step outside and shoot. Lets just hope those shots fall in.

                              yeah thats it.

I took alot of pics. Im not a proffesional or anything and my camera isnt all that good but its something. Ill post those up hopefully tomorrow night.

Ditto. I don't know why but I get the impression he could be a strong role player, something like we had with Ryan Martin.
