      Nicely played!

Of course it can, especially when 50% of the thread participants are KU and newly joined KU fans. 8)

      ... No really, deuces.

          Many are probably bandwagon fans.

Are you ignorant, stupid, or a combination of the two?

You aren't representing the Rainbow City fanbase very well today.
My bad, would almost two decades have been a better response? Am I missing an appearance between 1988 and 2006 somewhere?
I guess you answered with the 'combo'..

If you're trying to be cute, you're not. The proposed meeting between the two schools was scheduled to happen in November 2006. Let's see if that helps.

I really hope you aren't that stupid.
So by the year you went to the sweet sixteen you meant the calender year and not the season. I stand corrected. I think most people would have said the year after, like I would say Roy Williams started the year after we won the title even though it was in the same calendar year. I can live with not grasping your colloquial anomaly as the glaring example of my ignorance.

So yes, that makes much more sense that we would be scared of a team that had made the NCAA twice in the last 17 years.

Visitors who stir controversy need to take special care to be:

              1. Right
              2. Impeccably accurate in the deployment of their right-ness

hmmm, because KU never had much success on the basketball court until last year? Especially compared to other schools in the area?

KU football fans now that is a different story, lots of bandwagon jumpers there.

I think most go by seasons. Do you really believe if the proposed game happened in the same calendar year, that people would simply deny that WSU has been to the NCAA's yet?

I can understand the hesitance. I'm sure KU fans are probably just as fearful of Oral Roberts, Richmond, UMASS, etc. now more than ever.

                    • The proposed KU game was Nov/Dec 2005, the season we went to the Sweet 16. When KU declined it set up the Michigan St. game, which was played December 10, 2005.

                      Just keeping things factual.

I agree most do go by seasons, you didn't. If I refer to the year you guys went to the sweet 16 most would assume that meant the 2005-2006 season, not the second half of that season and the first half of the following season. So when you said it had been proposed the year you went to the sweet sixteen I assumed you meant the season. I think most would have said the year after you went to the sweet sixteen.

I'm not fearful of ORU, UMass, Richmond etc. Upsets happen all the time but they only happen to teams that are really good in the first place.

Ok, that's how I read it. So it had been since '88 that you had been to the tournament then.

Really? I swear I thought it was after the S16 reason.
Regardless, WSU's stock was rising at the time.

So, the bandwagon KU fans we've been seeing are football and not basketball? Thanks for clearing that up.

Or the teams you are playing are just really bad..

Let me know when any of the before-mentioned teams appear on the schedule again.
