And who wants to tell the 39th best center in America out of high school last year that he isn't good enough to play for Wichita State and has to redshirt. Don't look at me and I don't even like HCGM's chances of selling that line. If he was going to redshirt, he could have gone to Kentucky or somewhere else. I think the chance to play and start influenced his decision to come to WSU.

Why are we listening to this guy? All he does is come here to bash on us.

Clemente's not a center. JT Durley is just learning how to pretend to play defense. Aaron Ellis is not a center, he's a lanky PF or a tall SF. Mantas Griskenas is not a center either. Who do you suggest besides them? Mason Felter?

Garrett's the best option at center we have. He's going to do fine. If anything, this brief adjustment and conditioning period will make him into a harder competitor when we're making consistent noise in March.

Stutz will be just fine and dandy. Wish people would quit putting him down. He's just getting used to the college game and as evidenced by his hustle and charisma, will be an excellent player in due time. The skills are there and getting closer to synchronizing.

If and obviously a moot point, EO made it here, GS should have and probably would have RS.
Don't read it wrong - I like the kid. But he is a text book example of why coaches RS certain players.
It is what it is and he will get his baptism of fire this year. But both GS and the program would have been better served with a year to grow, adjust and learn. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Not ripping on him--just saying that he and the TEAM would benefit with him redshirting this year.

This year the team will be a lower level valley team and not even reach the post season.

In four years I can see this team get to the big dance. It sure would be nice to have somebody like him around--aka PM--whoops no comparisons.

Also I might be wrong on this but I think the only teams to offer him were KSU, NW, NEB, and ST LOUIS so I think asking him to redshirt was not out of the question.

The valley is so down we could be back this year with a little luck. Pay more attention to the world, idiot.

Fastbow before you start calling me an idiot--would you like to place a little wager on your valley prognosis? Once again the name calling baffles me.

I don't know you, neither do I gamble. Besides, I've made no prediction, I just said with a little luck we could make some noise in the valley.

So far he gives us depth at the position. Durley picks up two fouls and Stutz is there to hold the fort. Without Stutz we look identical to last year inside and we saw how that did not work. In a perfect world it would have been great to RS him but its not a perfect world.

Actually, without Stutz, we have less depth inside. The only difference from last year is that we have Stutz instead of Thomasson. Once Griz went down we were in a world of hurt. Redshirting GS would have been a luxury.

I should have taken all my money out of the stock market in June!

I should have invested in Pizza Hut when Frank Carney asked me for $1000 in the late 60's.

I should have studied harder and partied less in college.

I should have, could have, would have...

We have one other post player...Stutz is starting...He already has a 22 point game...I don't understand what somebody could want from him. He's a freshman. Almost all freshman, with exception to the Micheal Beasly's of the world, will have ups and downs. We have seen the ups, and recently the downs. Point being that with the lack of depth inside this season redshirting wasn't an option.

We don't have the luxury of redshirting every freshman on the roster. It would be amazing if we could have every freshman get five years on the roster and become great later in his career. (Paul, PJ) But we can't. Especially not this season. And I would be willing to bet that Stutz has at least two 20 point games in the Valley and averages over 7 or 8 points in conference play.
