I'm wondering the same thing too. He didn't respond to my comment in the other thread.

Lawboy, what do you think about the best team in Baylor history?

    • My guess is he is too happy to post. I mean hey, no one has died this season, right? That's a red letter day for the Bears.

      Comment

      • They haven't had any deaths or coaching changes in awhile, that's hardly an excuse for sucking at this point.

But seriously, wasn't it last year or the year before when Lawkid was telling us all about these McDonalds All Americans that they had and WSU didn't have any. I'm curious how these McDonalds All Americans have translated into post season success. Lawpunk likes to come on here acting superior, but the fact is that even with all these McDonalds All Americans Baylor couldn't even accomplish what maybe the 10th best team in Shocker history did just a couple years ago.

Seriously lawspaz, you should be worrying about who Baylor redshirts, why care what we do? Baylor coaches seem to be the ones needing the help.

        • I think 280 is a little bit of wishful thinking on HCGM's part. I think 260 lbs by the time Stutz is a senior is more in line.

Paul Miller played at 255 lbs when he was a senior.

I doubt VERY seriously if Stutz has the muscular potential of a Paul Miller. If he did, he could certainly hit 280 at 7ft tall. Paul was always pretty quick signaling good muscle development. Stutz right now has the speed of a Ryan Bradley. His legs have tree-stump'itis and they move like they are planted in the ground.

            • He is much quicker and faster than Ryan Bradley right now.

Nope, I've seen both play this year....Cold is right.....about the same speed....not quick! Bradley stronger in the paint.

                • I have too. Bradley is stronger, no doubt. Cold is wrong. Stutz is quicker and much, much faster, IMHO.

                    *scratches head*

No way. I could possibly amend my statements to closer to a Ryan Bradley than a Paul Miller but can't sign onto the "much quicker".

A great example of his speed and "explosiveness" was his rim-rejection from a point-bland position. Every scholarship member of our basketball team save for Clevin, Reggie, and Graham could have made that dunk. But the tallest person on our team missed it. It's not like he is getting 30 mins. a game either. His legs are always "fresh".

Skill can be developed. An athlete can put on muscle. but a non-athlete or person without a mesomorphic body type fights an uphill battle. Ryan Bradley was definitely an endomorph. To me, Garrett's body looks VERY similar to Ryan's.

We will see and I hope I'm wrong. Early indications point to sloth-like comparisons versus gazelle-like.

Soon though, we will have a 7-footer that "runs like a gazelle" :yahoo: :yahoo:

To be fair, Bradley is older than Stutz and is playing against weaker competition.

                      • Perhaps I can get some of my OH-SO-POPULAR topless shots of Stutz this summer to see if he is turning that baby fat into some rim-rockin' muscle.

                        • CB's credibility for evaluating talent went with larger than life view of Casey Crawford.

You silly rascal. Your grasp of history is less than impressive. The entire Shockernet community was abuzz with my threads and pictures of the "Great Crawfish".

The reason there is so much animosity over the kid now is that he made infamous statements like "I want to play in a bigger conference" etc. etc. He kind of disparaged WSU when he rejected our scholarship offer.

After he went to the ACC and didn't fare too well and then transferrred to the Big 12, many Shockernetters haven enjoyed his early arrogance being turned into a nice serving of humble pie.

Any friendly poking at me over the issue is just that. I posted some pictures that got the entire site jacked up over the kid. There were also some photos that included our coach breaking some minor NCAA rules. It was a real hoot!

I still think to this day that he would have been a good Valley player and made a HELLUVA lot more impact on our team than a Rob Kampman-type, etc. etc.

He's no All-ACC type player, but he can average 10ppg at least on a (Valley) team that isn't loaded with McDonald's All-Americans. He has a very athletic build and some potential (there's a reason why the ACC and then the Big 12 signed him). However, his stints at being the little crawfish fish in a big pond hasn't served him well. He is a bit of a spoiled brat.

Here's a treat from the past:

It was good news to any ear of a Wake Forest fan when they heard that three star power forward Casey Crawford was a soon to be Demon Deacon. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound prospect out of Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park (KS) has been in the recruiting process for quit a while and after good evaluation of all the schools, Crawford went with Wake. -Rivals.com
I guess Rivals lost all credibility right along with me...

Comparing this physical specimen's weight to what Stutz might attain is totally meaningless at this point. Paul Miller looks about as good as a 6'10" basketball-playing non-steroid-using white man can look.
