And it begins....Games of interest for Week of Nov 9 - 15
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
UNI won 61-56. The boxscore link hasn't fully updated yet, but should soon.

So far the Valley is 4-1...but with 3 games left I'm thinking we will finish the week 5-3 at best.

And if anyone cares, Tad Boyles UNC team put a scare into Oregon losing 66-64.
And a nice quote from the game...
"I'm sure proud of our effort, that's for sure," Boyle said Friday night. "I'm proud of our fight. I told our team in the locker room -- and the players feel the same way -- we're not happy with this. We never will be. Moral victories are for chumps."
Potential/Guaranteed Opponents went 7-5 so far on the week. Still waiting for TCU scores.

Drake was bad in a 58-48 home loss to Butler who started three freshmen. Drake was never in it and fans are critical of their new coach. 12 points in the first half is not a good first impression. I feel confident in my pre-season predication of Drake falling out of the top half of the Valley. Maybe I didn't place them low enough.
That was a well coached Butler team but they were younger than Drake and on the road. That is a not so good loss and a loss made worse by the way they played. One successful season may not have been enough to overcome decades of losing.....something we are not totally immune to seeing.
We may look back at the end of this year or next and really, really wonder how in the world Drake pulled it off last season.
