Where is that "Saluki punch in the gut" defense though? UMass has shot 46.5% from the field and 42.9% from the 3. Of course, like with what we will likely see, defense is the last thing for a newcomer to get a lot of times.

SIU onto Madison Square Garden to face Duke. Good win for SIU and the Valley. Coming back from 15 down says a lot for that team. Final score, SIU wins 80-73. SIU can score this year, but it looks like their defense might not be a tough as previous years.Comment

It was a nice win for the Valley.
Granted, it was against a team picked to finish 6th in the A-10 and it was at home for SIU. This was a game SIU should have won and did.
I hope they can keep it within 20 of Duke.Deuces Valley.
