Since I wasn't there for Matty's buzzer beater, I have to vote for FSU. I don't think it will be possible to enjoy a loss any more than I did that game. The buzzer beaters, the rowdy crowd, THAT'S what I want every time I step foot in Koch Arena, and THAT'S why octogenarian season ticket holders pray that I'm not the one sitting behind them.

The only thing that could have been louder is if we had actually won that game.

I really enjoyed watching Fogler's boys beat Larry Brown and Danny Manning. It was a tad too low scoring to be "one for the ages" though.

If "one for the ages" is OK in here, I remember one from 1967. I don't remember the score or the opponent, but it was a come-from-behind win.

It was so loud that the officials were marking times and spots when they blew whistles. Neither the players nor the scorekeepers were hearing whistles consistently.

One time a guy on the other team walked over to the official and handed him the ball. The player thought he heard a whistle. He got called for travelling. Opposing coach about blew a gasket. The crowd got louder.

Back in the old days (late '60's/early '70's), the Shocks could be down double digits. One defensive stop and the chance to get a 4-0 run going was all it took yo get the arena roaring and rocking.

There were a few too many years (the years between Smithson I and Smithson II) where a double-digit deficit was a great excuse for heading for the exits instead of looking for a stop on D.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Defense, Defense, Defense. 20-15 at the half.

          :good:

Sorry to go outside your stated parameters Doc, but I remember another great game from the Levitt days. It was a high scoring loss against a Hersey Hawkins led BU team. The memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think it was the game where Sasha pulled his hidden ball trick. I seem to remember the Hank being loud from start to finish.
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

The question is - What were the best games played since the remodeling of the arena, not before it was remodeled.

Does anyone have the FSU game on disk? I missed the game due to an obligation and truly regret missing it.

Unforunately, there was no TV for that game. Only the team video and news outlets have any tape of it.

:yahoo: Iowa in the NCAA tournament. 10,666 SRO each and every one deciding to scream as loud as they can until we get ahead, the game ends and the beloved home guys advance to the Battle of New Orleans! (remind myself of fsf on this one) !

I still wont back down from this statement: Loudest game "CKA" has ever had is FSU in NIT. Loudest moment: MB's 3 against CU! That FSU game was AWESOME. My ears were seriously ringing like I had been to a 3 hr. concert! Jamar and T. Smith (not sure on the great FSU marksman's name) trading blows was awesome. They raised each others level of play so high and they had so much respect for each other after the game and then the FSU coach's reaction to the crowd after the game was worth a milliion$! That FSU kid may have been the most electric scorer I've ever seen!

That was the only game I've been to where you couldn't talk to the person next to you, it was so loud.
