According to the Eagle articles at the time (and as covered in another thread) Stewart was indeed 6' 11.
WSU BETS ON PARSONS LONG SHOT K-STATE TO SIGN THREE
Bob Lutz, The Wichita Eagle
You probably haven't heard of Jerry Stewart. In a couple of years, Wichita State's basketball coaches hope you will know him well.
Stewart, a 6-foot-11 senior from Parsons who has never started a game for the Vikings, will sign a basketball letter of intent today with the Shockers.
Published on 1993-11-10, Page 1B, Wichita Eagle, The (KS)“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Remembered him from Scott Thompson's days. I went back and looked at the 1995-1996 media guide and he IS listed @ 7'0" He could also be the twin brother of godShaw from SIU."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Manute Bol comes to mind.
I am not sure Kerry Rosenboom should be put down based upon an exception. Just look at all of his successes with Shocker athletes and there are lots and lots as by grandson might say.
However, most players do gain weight, mass and strength. There are always exceptions.

Yeah I gave up because I saw an archived EAGLE article that said that 6'11" Sasha kid from Hutch was the biggest signee (although he didn't end up here) since Paul Wight at 7'0". And since Paul Wight wasn't it, I figured it had to be somebody that was listed at 6'10" or 6'11" and there have been several of those."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

That is the basis of my question as well. I just happened to be thumbing through that media guide last night and saw Mr. 7'0".

i have given up on Orupke. But I would be excited to see him show up in Black and Gold, competing for the SHOCKER post position.
