Ellis starting at the 5 would completely shock me. He's barely a 4. IF Ehimen isn't available I'd guess Stutz or Durley would get the start. But I expect it to be between Stutz and Orukpe.

What concerns me the most about EO becoming eligible this Fall is that the GED may be used under certain conditions (what the conditions are I don't know) to satisfy graduation requirements but not the core-course or test score requirements. Perhaps EO is not just at Sunrise to prepare for tests but to get core-course requirements taken care of.
This is the most confusing situation that I recall. It seems like there is no info about what he is doing at that school, what needs to be done there, when his "resume" will be ready for submission to the NCAA clearinghouse and when one could expect an answer on eligibility issues. I don't think its anybody's fault per se, but its just kinda hard to follow.
Does anybody know if anybody officially linked to WSU administration has indicated whether or not he is expected to be eligible by this season? What is the latest that WSU allows students to enroll for the first semester?

From what I know of the situation, a passing GED score is all he needs to be eligible. I didn't inquire about an ACT score. From what I know, if he still needs to take it, an 18 shouldn't be difficult for him to achieve at all.The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

EDIT: As I understand NCAA rules, if someone enrolls full-time at any school and they haven't been cleared by the NCAA, they are permanently ineligible for participation in D1 athletics. [The only reason I know this rule is that Nebraska just had a similar situation up here. In that case the student (Roburt Sallie) enrolled part-time before being cleared and a Big 12 rule indicated that since he enrolled at all, he was forever ineligible at Big 12 schools. Every article about the situation indicated that if Sallie would have enrolled as a full-time student (as opposed to part time) he would have been ineligible at all schools, not just Big 12 schools.]

Of that, I am not sure. I wasn't speaking with someone in the athletic department, so what I am saying only goes for his academic eligibility.
That said, I wasn't led to believe there were any other issues. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Nothing has been said by officials about expectations of him being eligible this season. I believe your third question has been addressed. In the fast lane

The GED takes care of core course requirements when you pass the test. Thousands of previous students have had a GED before entering college, so Orukpe is not the first to go this path.
The fact that he was able to take the GED so soon after getting here tells me that he is well versed in the subject matter areas. The more pressing issue might the SAT/ACT tests (College Entrance) which are only given at certain times of the year. He will need to be prepped for them, and probably will only have 1 shot at them before the Semptember semester starts.
