Unfortunately I failed to consult with Kung Wu (as Pogo suggested) regards how small my predicted loss digit for the Shockers will be this year; but with the official schedule released - I think the Shockers will finish the regular season with no more than 4 losses. Who really knows but IMO the most likely potential losses are:

Nov 22 - Championship game in Maui Invitational

Dec 02 - @ Baylor

Feb 18 - @ Cincinnati

Feb 24 - @ SMU

In seriousness, though, 76's list is a good one, but I'm thinking that more likely than losing @Cincy or SMU will be @UCF on March 1. The first (and second, for that matter) Cincy game will be super-hyped, and the SMU game will get plenty of attention too. That UCF game smacks of the classic Indiana road trip loss - getting caught napping - that the team has suffered in the past.

The first (and second, for that matter) Cincy game will be super-hyped, and the SMU game will get plenty of attention too. That UCF game smacks of the classic Indiana road trip loss - getting caught napping - that the team has suffered in the past.

Agree with your reasoning regards the UCF game; for me that is a potential high risk game. Even with five (5) losses I like the Shockers' chances for a good seed in March Madness (certainly better than the seeds the Shockers had the last two tournaments).

I don't understand how anyone would be napping on UCF. They're going to be very good. With that said, even if we are mentally prepared, a loss in Orlando would still not surprise me.

WSU should have a top 50 SOS this year. Maybe even as high as top 30. This is how I approached my prediction, and why I feel really good about a 3 loss Shocker team getting a 1 seed.
