I love the 2017-2018 schedule!!!
I have not forecasted losses for the Shockers as I want to wait for the official schedule and rosters. I am very confident my projection will be single digit. Just not sure how small that digit will be!

Assuming that the Maui home game gets added to finalize the schedule, I am going with 25-6 going into the conference tournament. In the non-conference portion, I am guessing that a loss will come in Maui and come in one of the Big 12 games. I'll go 5-4 on the road in the conference.
Also, I am surprised that nobody has mentioned this yet, but while we have to learn 11 new opponents as opposed to everyone else learning one new opponent, there are eight programs that will be making their first trip to Koch Arena this year for the first time in a long time (if ever). Coaches will warn them plenty, but those players don't have any idea of awaits them here in Wichita...ESPECIALLY this year! So...I don't anticipate any home losses this season.78-65

I'd love to see 3 losses land us a 1 seed, don't get me wrong! I'll see happily eat a crow pie if we're at 3 losses and land a 1 seed. I really can't lose on this one. 😂

For what it's worth, and just for perspective, in their first season in the Wildly Expanded East (Omaha = east of Lincoln, apparently), the Jayboys were 14-4 in league play and handled conference champ Villanova; and 27-8 overall. And that was with Doug ("I block fewer shots than Conner Frankamp") McD, plus a Valley roster of guys who could play H-O-R-S-E all day long but had no clue how to reach the second weekend of the NCAA.
The American is a different league, but not necessarily better than the 2013-14 NBE, and WSU is better than that CU team was. They also have Marshall, although not Chris Jans to help out. We'll see how all that translates, but some of the high loss numbers I'm seeing in this thread surprise me, even from ShockerNet.
Shocks do have to stay healthy, though. We saw two years ago how dramatically a season's prospects can be changed by a few key injuries (e.g., FVV, Shamet, and Grady).
