Since this is a "Smack Talk" thread I wanted to share something I heard on PHX sports radio last week after the NBA draft.

I did not recognize the name or where he played college ball when the Suns drafted at 4th. I happened to catch his interview on radio a couple days later and during the interview I learned he played 1 season at kansas.

Well during the interview he commented that he could've gone to any of the BIG schools but chose kansas. I found that comment somewhat interesting and a bit comical.

Jackson is immature and has had well documented issues at Kansas, albeit not more serious than is typical from your stereotypical frat guy, but even with those issues isn't his quote accurate? I'm missing the comedic value.

Instead of accepting that football will drive the bus, let's even things out by cutting the basketball schedule in half, add half as much time to each half (think of how many points WSU could score in a half!) of the game and play half as many games in a week.

That should cut football popularity in half and transfer that half to the extra half of basketball. That's an extra half of TV revenue shifted from football to basketball. Cut the number of D1 basketball teams in half so that the worst half of D1 will drop to D2 and we'll have half as many half-assed opponents to pick from.

...and, as a Kansas tax payer, where is that cash coming from if it's already in the bank?

Call me biased against a sport I don't love.....but I hate that anyone on earth is spending 300 million on football. It's a slap in the face when you spend 300 million for a crap football team that has no fans.

Well I doubt beaker fans would find it comedic that one of their boys didn't consider kansas a big school. But for me as a Shocker fan (and a non-beaker fan)...his comment seemed like a jab at what beaker fans would otherwise like the world to believe. So with that said...yeah you are absolutely right...his quote is accurate.

Hey no harm no foul! :) I told a beaker customer of mine about it and his reaction was, "he said what?" practically having a coronary about the kids comment on the radio. Lol. I got a bit of a chuckle from his overly sensitive bubble-ego. Silly beaker fans..
