If one year later Eustachy could go to having a head coaching job, or Dave Bliss manage to get another job ANYWHERE, Jans could have gotten an assistant job.

To borrow a line from a former Shockernet poster; "I'm not worried".

I wish him the best. He has been great for WSU for many years now and I have no doubt will be successful at New Mexico St. WSU now has 1 or 2 assistant openings and will get 100+ applicants for those positions. Yes this hurts short term, but we will land a good replacement(s). Good luck Jans.

Not saying he should be indebted forever but leaving now is just bad timing (GH leaving, him just being promoted, very important recruiting period right now, and a new conference to scout)

Timing sucks, yes. Coach's want a shot at running their own program. I am sure he didn't expect this opportunity to come along so quickly after accepting the AHC job.
As long as he expresses how extremely greatful and indebted towards Gregg and WSU in the media, then all will be well. He's been given a second chance at life. Hopefully he doesn't let this one get away from him toozThe Assman

Good luck to him.

None of us know what goes on behind closed doors nor all the reasons CJ is leaving. Stop making assumptions. The fact there are fans on here throwing a man under the bus, a man who helped build the incredible program we have now, is unbelievable to me. To act like you would walk away from Life changing money just because it would help out your current job is laughable.
