If the answer is no, that's an irrelevant question.
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. So is he just beholden to Gregg forever? Yeesh. So would you turn down a promotion because there was a chance you might get another job? If so your lying or foolish.

Guess I should have been more clear. $275k should not have been a problem for Wichita State. I would be disappointed in Wichita State if money was what made Jans leave.

If one year later Eustachy could go to having a head coaching job, or Dave Bliss manage to get another job ANYWHERE, Jans could have gotten an assistant job.
We would have been fine without CJ. However, CJ would not have quickly landed on his feet without HCGM. Therefore, CJ got the better deal.

To borrow a line from a former Shockernet poster; "I'm not worried".
Agree. Will not think too much about CJ though after BGSU and this latest stunt. Should have waited one more year imo.

          • I wish him the best. He has been great for WSU for many years now and I have no doubt will be successful at New Mexico St. WSU now has 1 or 2 assistant openings and will get 100+ applicants for those positions. Yes this hurts short term, but we will land a good replacement(s). Good luck Jans.

It's stupid to expect someone to not put a program in a "bad" situation when that program went out of its way to make sure you had a job when you were considered "unhireable"?

Not saying he should be indebted forever but leaving now is just bad timing (GH leaving, him just being promoted, very important recruiting period right now, and a new conference to scout)

              • Best of luck to Chris Jans. I think Gregg could find candidates familiar with the AAC. That could be a plus.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

                • Timing sucks, yes. Coach's want a shot at running their own program. I am sure he didn't expect this opportunity to come along so quickly after accepting the AHC job.

As long as he expresses how extremely greatful and indebted towards Gregg and WSU in the media, then all will be well. He's been given a second chance at life. Hopefully he doesn't let this one get away from him tooz

                    • Here's an interesting theory:

What if Gregg knew that Chris wouldn't be here next year and so Gregg "promoted" Chris to make him look better for his next job?

                      • Maybe HCGM really likes Lindsted?

This. We were incredibly lucky to have CJ for the past two years.

                          Good luck to him.

You shouldn't assume that I make a lot of assumptions.

The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

                                .

None of us know what goes on behind closed doors nor all the reasons CJ is leaving. Stop making assumptions. The fact there are fans on here throwing a man under the bus, a man who helped build the incredible program we have now, is unbelievable to me. To act like you would walk away from Life changing money just because it would help out your current job is laughable.
