Kinda hard to measure that. Lol.

He also could not communicate with the players during the game.

Only the head coach and three assistants can recruit, so no, Chris was not recruiting for the last two years.

This is almost like the scholarship issue. We aren't going to keep a guy on staff as a special assistant forever when he could be making double salary as an assistant. The last two years were good for him to get back on his feet, but it wouldn't last forever. If we didn't promote him sooner than later, we'd eventually see him elsewhere.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the LSU recruits and see if GH is able to take those relationships with him

I'm as big of a numbers and stats person as you will find on this board, but you have to accept sometimes there are things that can be absolutely true without being quantifiable.

Hard to say. Chris is only 6 years younger than Coach Marshall so he may not want to wait around until 3G retires or otherwise moves on if he wants another shot at a head coaching gig. On the other hand it's hard to say what kind of impact his BG experience may have had on his career aspirations. My guess is he will get another shot to run his own shop and will probably strongly consider any decent opportunities as he probably should. OTOH if he and 3G can team up to take this program to new heights in their new conference who knows. He might just be content to ride the wave he has helped create.

What you can measure is that Chris Jans had been promoted to Associate Head Coach before he left for BG and has now been restored to that position at pretty much the 1st opportunity 3G had to do so.

Questioning Chris Jans' abilities is questioning 3G's ability to evaluation and value his assistants. When you are appointed Associate Head Coach the Head Coach is making a definitive statement of your value to him and his program. Perhaps you should ask 3G to put some kind of number on that for you.

                  This. No other questions needed.

When we beat the Chickens, Jans wasn't on the sidelines, nor was Cleanthony on the court. If GGG wants him, we should want him.

Chris' wife works at WSU too so it works good for their family. She stayed here while he went to Biwling Green. I'm guessing he is happy for the opportunity and Ot looking to move up quickly.

He saw an NBA PG in a 2-sport kid from Scott City with barely any D1 interest.

His scouts and in-game adjustments are praised by coaches and players alike.

No one was surprised when he won 20 games at a middling Bowling Green.

Welcome back to your chair, CJ.

Right now, Kentucky has an assistant, who is earning $700,000. I assume it is the norm for very successful programs.

If Coach Jans can get to the $300,000 - $400,000 salary level, perhaps his roving eye might go away. Of course, it assumes he has a roving eye.

Using the words "roving eye" with the whole backstory on Jans' history......might there be a better choice of words to describe what you're trying to say?
