It isn't just us, it is a concerted effort by the AAC with the #AmericanPow6r and here is a link regarding apparel:

Keep in mind,KU is a P-5 football team. North Dakota State is not. Just because you are P-5, or P-6, doesn't mean you're special. Unless you are using the word special in a special way.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

P-4, P-5, P-6 is a football reference, not basketball. The Big East doesn't play football, not a P-6. Wichita State doesn't play football, Wichita State, without football, joining the AAC doesn't make the AAC a P-6.

I know the AAC wants to be a part of the P-6, they put stickers on their helmets, but that ship has sailed, there are five autoaualifier football conferences and the AAC is not one of them.
You may not like or agree with it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's what TV is calling it. I've heard everyone on College Basketball Gameday's crew use the term this past season. If enough people are saying it, it becomes a reality.

False. It becomes a reality when the AAC gains an AQ in the NY6.

Were they describing the AAC or the BIG EAST when using "P6"? Because BIG EAST fans think they are in the "P6".

I am fine with P6. Yes, it has more to do with football. It won't be the first time a football term is used during basketball. BCS still gets used.

Anything that gets people comparing us to other big conferences is a good thing. I don't care what they call us as long as they are putting us up there.

My reply would be simple. I haven't heard them call that. Maybe they do it on AAC broadcasts, but if we rewind and rewatch the enirety of the college football playoffs, we will hear it a combined zero times. Zero. And P-5, P-6 is all about football, not basketball.

Furthermore, worying about being called P-5 or P-6 is silly. If you are really good, you don't care. Alabama doesn't care of you never call them a P-5, they just know they will get the call to keep playing football in January. Iowa State and Purdue, however, love to remind people that they are playing P-5 football.

Im the guy that needlessly downloaded the textnow, free texting service, then sent my wife some suggestive texts from an unknown number.

She figured out it was me when I typed bacon one too many times.

AAC should merge with the B12?

I haven't laughed much lately, but texting my wife from a number she did not know, and texting her certain perversians made me laugh. I don't know if I'll be laughing when she gets home, but it was totally worth it.

"TU's reaction to Wichita State joining the AAC" - Tulsa World

Tulsa's Frank Haith and Athletic Director Derrick Gragg reactions:

Haith: “Right now (after addition of Wichita State), we are a Power 6 conference…top to bottom, is now how good our league is.”

Gragg: “it’s a great improvement…. We like to talk about Power (conferences) and expanding from Power 5 to Power 6, and this is just a step in that direction.”

I think I may have confused some people with my post. They frequently used the term "P5" when talking about college basketball/bids from those conferences. Basically, the term "P5" has made its way over to basketball. Additionally, some writers/announcers have even begun to use the "P6" term in basketball to include the Big East.

We can't do much to fight against the term at this point. We have to fight to get ourselves included.
