"...6. What to make of Wichita State’s potential move to the American Athletic Conference?
For the immediate future? The Shockers bring back everyone of note from a 31-5 team that was underseeded this season. Wichita State was going to run through the Missouri Valley next year, and it would find a little more resistance (from Cincinnati, Southern Methodist, Central Florida and perhaps one or two others) in the American.
The long term depends on whether Wichita State is another Gonzaga, about five years into an extended run as a top 25 program, or something more fleeting. In any case, here’s hoping the Shockers’ nonrevenue teams enjoy trips around the corner to Storrs, Conn., Philadelphia and Greenville, N.C., should this conference switch come to fruition in the next month or two....
...16. Who will be the No. 1 seeds?
It’s way too early to be answering any questions about seeding and brackets for 2018, and anyone trying to credibly do so is participating in a fool’s errand. Nonetheless, an early guess on four teams that could find themselves in good shape based on a combination of what they have coming back, what they have coming in and the record they could run up in their respective leagues: Kansas, Louisville, Wichita State and Villanova."
