That is the 1st competition against a conference opponent. However, the 1st event as an official AAC member (which becomes reality in about a week on July 1st) will be about a month before that.

Wichita State will host Charleston on November 13th as part of its 2017-18 non-conference schedule, per a source.

Charleston returns all of their top contributors from a team that ended up at 70 in the RPI. Seems like a great buy game before we head to Maui.

Down to 2 openings (1 mainland Maui Invitational game; 1 mystery wildcard). Although I am wondering if this will be the game tied into Maui given the date.

I bet we play another game prior to leaving for Maui probably on the 15th. I'm still hoping that we can get that series with South Carolina started. Would be great to play them at home this year then tie the return game to our trip to Charleston next year. Probably wishful thinking but would love one more P5 team on the schedule.

I assume you mean the "home" schedule since we are on the road at OSU and Baylor.

I think it is very reasonable that we could be about to witness a 5 loss team that, rather than being on the bubble, is top 10 in both the AP and the RPI.
