  • Because the women only play a 16 game conference schedule, it means everyone gets 5 teams home and home and 6 teams are a one-off. WSU is projected to finish in the bottom 6 of the conference. So the UCONN women should be coming to WSU in the 2018-2019 season.

It makes perfect sense why. It's still disappointing from a fans perspective. UConn will be the biggest draw since Jackie Stiles.

I agree. We played at a sold-out Kansas State last season and Geno said it was one of the best away atmospheres he's seen. I'm sure WSU will not disappoint. The state of Kansas has some crazy basketball fandom.

Not a good one. 50-75 seems reasonable.

Depends on how the non con rounds out

              • The women's schedule was also done by perceived strength, but it's interesting that it worked out that WSU's draw was the best possible geographic group. The five closest schools are H/H while the others are just one game.

As a comparison, had we stayed in the MVC, we would have faced 2 teams in conference play for a total of 4 games with an RPI (last year’s rankings) in the top 150 this season and 7 teams for 14 games with an RPI above 150. By joining the AAC, which has just had the schedule released for the 2017-18 season, we will face 8 teams for 15 games…wait a second, what? Check that, YEP! 15 GAMES IN THE TOP 150 IN CONFERENCE PLAY ALONE AND ONLY 3 TEAMS FOR 3 GAMES WITH AN RPI ABOVE 150.

                  Someone shut the front door!

When we played in the NIT in 2011 (you know, the season when we lost you all in Hawaii when Kemba Walker got Michael Jordan treatment...sorry, I'm still bitter), we beat College of Charleston to advance to New York. College of Charleston of course isn't a "name team," and our crowd was still so crazy that Fran Fraschilla said that our atmosphere might have been better than Allen Fieldhouse up the road at Kansas.

If you can make the trip, you'll experience how nutty we are...but also how nice we are. That's how we roll here in the heartland. I'd be glad to buy you a beverage and talk hoops with you.

Improved NCAA resume? Check! Hopefully the select few in the AAC turn into top 50 teams.

                      • I think the American puts 4 teams into the ncaa basketball tournament this next year.

You think UConn will be one of them?

I'd be glad to throw in for one too!

Which conference(s) put less teams in next year to make up for the two extra teams the AAC would put in?

                              • I think WSU, Cincinnati, and SMU will be locks. UCF, Houston, Temple, and UCONN will have a shot.

The American will be a top 5 RPI league, and I'm gonna go with 4-5 bids.
