Something about the time referenced didn't add up about Bjays, so I looked. From '86 thru '97 they were a less than stellar 162 - 190 by my count. So, at the dawn of message boards they weren't quite full of themselves yet. Beyond that, they were definitely chirpy.

Back in 86, Valley message boards were 1-900 hotlines. Only $2.00 a minute and you even had the chance to speak with Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.

I certainly have a lot more respect for him after this weekend. Not saying he's perfect. Neither is our coach. But I love and respect the living hell out of him.
That's twice in a row for Muller; he was a stand-up guy after the pounding in Wichita also. I also have more respect for him than previously.

I remember sparring with SIU fans on the Prodigy message board on the old 386 back in '94 or '95. Maybe earlier when dial up was the thing.

That's how I expect visitors from opponents to act when they come here. Trash talk before or after games just leads to retaliation and then both teams' boards get a little ugly.

"Splash" and I hit it off from the start. Even though I wasn't wearing a possum t shirt. Did that because the mo state fans would have thought of last nights supper. Found out we have lots of mutual acquaintances. His much :)older brother people from work and high school. Splash and his wife were great to sit next to and are great Shocker fans. Another of the great reasons to attend St Louis. So Splash, I never did find out if you like to play golf. If so we will have to do that but we won't invite ShoxMVC cause he's a show off and actually knows how to play.

In the real world, on numerous occasions I have found that people I assumed would be jerks(because of some type of opposing side...politics, work place, religion, team affiliation) are often really cool people with some wrong choices!:)

I'll say I had a great time in St. Louis this year. Flew Southwest so the trip home combined with the win was 100x better than any before.

As for the ISU fans, I probably had more run ins with them this year than MSU, CU and SIU fans combined over the last 14 years. Besides the occasional "Shockers suck" being yelled at random times here are a few of their winners...

                                1) Running to catch the train during game 2 on Friday group of college aged ISU fans yelled "Don't you want to stick around and watch the Shockers lose". My buddy told them we'll drop another 41 point loss on them Sunday. As we were getting on the train one of them yelled back "Come say that to my face you pus*%es". Luckily my buddies didn't hear because they might not have boarded the train...lol

                                2) Halftime of our game Saturday standing off to the side in the concourse a random ISU guy ran up to tell us the Shockers suck and he hopes we lose...Then flipped us off and said f*&% you guys. Then he said he was just kidding...then he said, no seriously, F%&$ you guys and ran off.

                                3) Had an ISU fan tell me our coach is an a-hole...I told him I know but he wins...Yours is just an a-hole. He didn't like that zinger and said "f&%$ you I hope you lose tomorrow"

                                3) We were in the Drake section...had a few ISU fans turn around in their seats initiate shouting matches during the championship game because they didn't like the foul calls.

I realize it's sports and things get heated and I've yelled things before, but it's taking it too far if you're calling people names or yelling obscenities at random people. And all that said while I dislike their coach, some of their players and fans, I'll still pull for them to make the tournament and win a game or 2, if noting else to help validate the Shockers and the crappy Valley.
