I sat near some ISUr fans during the Sunday game.

The weirdest thing that happened was two ISUr fans shouting at each other. One group was standing and the people behind them shouted at them to sit down. The fans in front shouted back something about trying to get people hyped up and cheering for the team, so everybody should stand. The other people kept asking them to sit down. Finally, a security guard came and told the fans in front to sit down.

Never seen that before. Made me think I might get asked to leave for clapping too loud or something.

As for the ISU fans, I probably had more run ins with them this year than MSU, CU and SIU fans combined over the last 14 years. Besides the occasional "Shockers suck" being yelled at random times here are a few of their winners...

      1) Running to catch the train during game 2 on Friday group of college aged ISU fans yelled "Don't you want to stick around and watch the Shockers lose". My buddy told them we'll drop another 41 point loss on them Sunday. As we were getting on the train one of them yelled back "Come say that to my face you pus*%es". Luckily my buddies didn't hear because they might not have boarded the train...lol

      2) Halftime of our game Saturday standing off to the side in the concourse a random ISU guy ran up to tell us the Shockers suck and he hopes we lose...Then flipped us off and said f*&% you guys. Then he said he was just kidding...then he said, no seriously, F%&$ you guys and ran off.

      3) Had an ISU fan tell me our coach is an a-hole...I told him I know but he wins...Yours is just an a-hole. He didn't like that zinger and said "f&%$ you I hope you lose tomorrow"

      3) We were in the Drake section...had a few ISU fans turn around in their seats initiate shouting matches during the championship game because they didn't like the foul calls.

I realize it's sports and things get heated and I've yelled things before, but it's taking it too far if you're calling people names or yelling obscenities at random people. And all that said while I dislike their coach, some of their players and fans, I'll still pull for them to make the tournament and win a game or 2, if noting else to help validate the Shockers and the crappy Valley.
They sound like Creighton fans, minus the winning.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Funny, I did that "Name That Tune" game during the MSU game on Saturday, and there were a couple ISU fans booing me, trying to help the MSU girl, and accusing me of cheating. I found it humorous. Probably all is good fun, but maybe not. That said, a few high-fived me afterwards and said "congrats". I also meet a nice couple at Ballpark Village that were ISU fans that were very courteous.

I also spoke with a MSU fan after the game on Saturday that had been loud and cheering all game. I told him he was a great fan and that his team had a lot of young talent and should be even better next season. He was very warm and gracious back towards the Shockers and myself.

Lots of good and bad apples in every fan base. All we can try to do is represent WSU and Shocker Nation the best way possible. Make them encrypted us both on and off the court.
