Here's the deal. The Banner Shocker Season of 2012/2013 we were picked 4th in the Valley but ended up with a record of 30-9 and despite so many injuries we made it to the Final 4. However, there was this sweeping glitch along the way when UE defeated us 71-67 at the Ford Center led by Colt Ryan's 24 points and then he scored 29 points with 5 assists when they won 59-56 here in Wichita. The good news is the Purple Aces have not beat us since and will have no Colt, and no tricks up their sleeves when they visit us next on Senior Night. Our Walk ons' John Robert Simon and Zach Bush have worked hard for our beloved Shocks and are class acts both on and off the court. The Shocks with their help will know how to hold them, fold them, and stop our foes and walk away with the Senior Night Victory. Thank you JRS and ZB for giving this fine Program your all. What an honor to have you as forever Shockers.
Charles Dickens had the famous quote, "It was the best of times and it was the worst of times." Our game at their Casino touched on that quote some. The first half we were behind 33-30 and my supper was churning like a roaring river and my minuscule pea brain was racing like a runaway freight train until the Shocks 'ramped up their roll' in the second half and we won 82-65. UE was ahead of Bradley 10 points earlier when I checked and I will update the final score later. Before this game today they are 5-10 in the MVC and 14-14 overall. However, they are not the best of road teams at 2-7 but could and should beat Bradley on the road today. Jaylon Brown and Ryan Taylor played well against us so we will be 'up close and personal' with them for sure.
In this game, the Shocks will bumfuzzle the Purple Aces O and D gameplan to the point that it will be like pouring milk on rice-krispies and hearing the "snap, crackle, and popping noise" and we will surpass them by 33. Look for our ever improving inside game to dominate and then our outside game to take over led by CF with five 3-pointers.
Charles Dickens also once said "Procrastination is the thief of time. Collar him." We know next Season will be one to remember. However, the Marshall Plan insists "Why Not Now?" This very team is very capable of seizing more quality wins from this moment forward this very Season. No use waiting for Christmas but rather blow the roof off of the opportunities that are knocking and storm through the doors Right Now.
