ISU fans are hilarious. I grew up near Bloomington-Normal. I was VERY happy to get out of that area. They think Kansas is flat and boring? OH, my! I'll take living in Wichita over living in Central Illinois--ANY DAY!!!

I spent 6 long months in Bloomington/Normal in the late 80's. Their mall sucked. Their winter weather sucked (2X at -25F). It's flat and boring. The only thing I really liked about the area was the horseshoes at Schooner's and the pizza at the Luca Grill.

I will say the people were nice, in a Midwestern sort of way, but crap, that place is 3 hours from civilization (Chicago or St. Louis). No way I would compare Peoria (which is about 40 miles away) with Wichita, either. I wouldn't want to insult Wichitans.

Not only that, but the winter I was up there, you couldn't really get out and do anything. I went to Peoria in March and visited Big Al's (probably the best place to visit in Peoria) and Paradise Casino. Other than that, very blah!

I really hope some students make and security allows some signs that show the true worth of the JailBirds. Either the JailBirds or Crimestoppers or lost wallet stuff. I would also like to see us get a big lead and get a jailbird chant going throughout the arena. I'm really tired of the "oh we're too good or too classy for that" crowd. These bastards don't deserve to be treated with any class. They deserve the truth. Every high major arena in the country brings the taunts when they're true. WE are a high major arena. Let's prove it!!!

The only player I can remember from Normal who made a splash in the NBA was Jack Sikma. But he went to school at Illinois Wesleyan, and that isn't Illinois State, even though both of the schools are in ABNormal.

Again, their fans talk like they actually win, but they have a mediocre program that ranks bottom half in the Valley easily with their history and tradition. Just imagine how bad they'd be if they were actually decent.

Those 2 dunks were spectacular along with our 2 now NBA players both making the precise passes. So we also had the MTXE factor in the game we were down so far (7 points?) with 40 seconds at their barn but still beat the birds. There was the high-karate kick to Cotton, and he jumps up like it was nothing and did not retaliate as some would for sure have done. That took Mental Toughness. Then our squad showed Extra Effort by overcoming this deficit with the surpass and the Victory. The law of averages demands you lose most games in that scenario but our road warriors won that game and defied the odds.

Coach Marshall teaches our players to play angry and likes our execution on the floor do our talking. Tonight both teams will ramp it up but it is more difficult to pull hens teeth than to defeat our beloved Shocks at Koch Arena. Look for our inside game to prevail and our outside shooting to raise the roof.
