This game reminded me of most football games you see involving what used to be called 1AA teams (like SIU) against D1 opponents. You might see a halftime score that showed the 1AA team either hanging tough or winning, and then midway through the third quarter, the world rights itself 95 percent of the time, as skill and depth take over.
I got intrigued when I saw the halftime score and decided to tune in, since you never know. Then I got tied up with some stuff for about five minutes when the score was something like 38-34 Shocks. I came back and it was basically over. But kudos to the Braves for at least giving you a game for that half, I guess.
How sad is it that the first thing that came to my mind about an MVC tilt was of teams from entirely different divisions of competition?
Yeesh.
And (kind of) the same with Illinois State and E-ville: when the Thugbirds finally decided that enough was enough--with about 3 minutes to go--it was over.
