Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

    • Just visited the Official MVC Site and found some stats to compare which further proves this should be a close game. In general, I like the way our team plays on the road and finds a way to win. I do know Paris Lee will be a handful and can really penetrate and make things happen. Mr. Smith may get first crack at slowing him down to a mild roar but Shamet and maybe Brown share in this endeavor? Dunno. Of course rebounding should be close tonight and our Offense gets 18.6 assists a game versus their 12.8 in Valley play.

Which team will have foul trouble with key players? The Shocks are more resilient to overcome that issue than the birds having an edge on quality depth. So far, the Shocks have had 38 steals and the Birds 29 and both squads have blocked 19 shots. Looking at defensive team stats, they have an edge but I still like our chance tonight there too. Offensive team stats do favor our beloved Shocks. Our free throw % is better and I just hope we draw more fouls than they do tonight but that will be a chore with Paris Lee flying all over the place.

In conclusion, this proves to be a hard fought game for our Shocks. Could Shaq be an X-Factor tonight? He is due for a big game, so why not tonight? Was hoping he would be tearing up this Valley and it is sure not too late to get started doing so. If not, a double- double from Willis could occur tonight IF, IF, IF, he stays free of too many Valley whistles with his physical play. Yes, Lee is good but no Valley team matches up to our 4 rotating guards overall IMO. A win tonight would put us in Ship/Shape in this here Valley race at 6-0. One thing about it, it is not Normal for many Valley teams to win at Redbird Arena. However, our Shocks have proven to be the very best team in the Valley at winning for years, and that includes road wins.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

        • Sounds like their board is anticipating a good-sized crowd. Probably all of their players were encouraged to invite their parole officers.

          • I wonder how many cigarettes will be wagered on this game..

Haven't been much of a prediction guy for a while. This game does make me nervous, though. This is a game that should go down in the W column but very well may not. May the better team win, and may Elgin stay out of it.

            • To me, this game boils down to Paris Lee. Have to stay in front of him and stop his penetration. This is something we haven't been good at...Think OK St.

              • Office holiday party tonight at 7, so I'll be recoding the game. Probably won't be able to not check the score out. But maybe I can hold out. Nobody in Omaha is going to know the score.

                Shocks win a close one.

Think Milt Doyle, he got to the line at will for a while against us.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

I'll know the score! I'll keep you up to date!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I would think that Landry will get the majority of time guarding Lee followed by Smith, and maybe Brown.

                        • Where is this Winter Wonderland predicted here early today? I had my first entrepreneur get rich quick scheme. I was thinking on gathering icicles, and making black and yellow slushes, popsicles, with a pinch of black cherries, and a twist of lemons, wearing my Shocker garb, setting up a booth in the neighborhood revving up loud "ice-ice-bay-bay" music, and selling natural ice-treats for a profit off the elements. Who needs hot coffee or hot cocoa on a day like this anywho? I could ask the masses--have you ever heard of FSF on SN and hear them reply like an owl would. "Who? Who? Who? Then we get no stinkin ice-storm yet, so forget it--just forget it.

Only a Shocker win tonight can cure such anxieties!!!!!!!!!!!

Doyle constantly got bailed out by calls that should never get made. We can probably expect Lee to get the same treatment today
