Your RPI is based on if you actually win or lose the games.

      Sure.

I guess I didn't communicate my thought clearly. My point is I'm not sure it matters if you use NCSOS or RPI as the tie-breaker, since absent NCSOS, RPI is a constant when you play in the same conference. Right?

Conference sos would be the same, but the rpi includes the teams wins and losses

You might be communicating clearly and it's just going over my head. RPI throughout conference play is basically a wash but the non-conference games are still part of the equation which gives us the verdict. It doesn't matter if you use OoC (out of conference) RPI or overall RPI. I imagine they just use RPI for simplicity purposes. NCSOS (non-conference strength of schedule) completely takes wins/losses out of the equation which might be why they got rid of it. Same thing with NCSOS vs SoS though. It doesn't really matter which you use.

          • Lol!

            Right.

            Duh.

Excuse the brain fart this fine evening @AndShock: and @ShockerEngr:.

              • I am going to be so happy with Barry Hinson tonight. He is going to beat the Burds and give us the potential for a title without a share. And he's going to save his job, too, so I get to have more years with him in the MVC.

And it'll lock up back-to-back COYs for him.

I would trade 2017 COY for an outright championship. Marshall ain't winning it anyway.

                      • I just checked the standings again. SIU can make a play at 3rd place if they pull off the win tonight. They could catch lightning in a bottle and knock off Illinois State and then beat Loyola to get to 10-8.

I fully expect UNI to lose tonight to last place ISUb, and then follow it up with a clutch win over Illinois State at home Saturday. That's how UNI works.

We are going to get to see what Illinois State is made of this week and next. Should be interesting. I do expect them to win out, but obviously, I don't like to share.

I may be missing some sarcasm or tongue-in-cheek aspects of your post. But If you fully expect UNI to win over Illinois State on Saturday, how do you also expect Illinois State to win out?

                          • ISUr can't even get a quarter-full upper bowl for senior night for a 15-1 team. Kind of sad. ISUr fans like to pretend they're one of the "real" programs of the Valley. Which schools would have a packed house for senior night for a 15-1 conference team? Probably everyone except for Evansville and Indiana State. Loyola too, maybe.

                            • Mikyle McIntosh is in the starting lineup for Illinois State so it would appear the tweak to his knee against Loyola was just that.

                              • You can tell SIU is not on the same level as a SWOMO or Loyola. SIU has it close 7 minutes in but this one should be a blowout.
