The article is a fairly accurate account of the times. As someone who has followed college hoops heavily, including high school All-Americans, I remember sitting in the Round House with a buddy asking "Who is that tall guard from North Carolina?" He stood out, by far, even then. Chris Mullin was pretty impressive too.

Didn't Patrick Ewing play as well? There were other really good college players, at a minimum. My memory will fail me (I was a kid but at the game)

Seriously, I loved listening to Aubrey. He's a shade older than I am, but I love what he's done and I LOVED how Gregg asked Shane how he did after the game.

Patrick was there in street clothes on the bench. If I remember correctly that was the first year it had been decided that a high-schooler could only participate in 2 (not more) all-star games. I think he had already participated in the Capital Classic and the Dapper Dan (in Philly)? Dreiling was another player who underwhelmed.
