I'm a season ticket holder, missed a total of 3 home games since 2003, I have sold tickets to 2 home games so far this year. A big part of that is allowing others to go to games that I am less interested in. A small part of it is the large increases we have seen over the last 5 years in season ticket prices, its nice to get a small piece of that back. I don't think it is totally unreasonable for season ticket holders to ask for at least 1 decent home game at Koch Arena. Our only decent 'home' game this year is OSU downtown.... which is not included in the ticket package (not starting that argument, just making note). So for fans to decide to stay home and watch on TV once in a while.... its not that big of a deal. The seats are all bought and paid for, that in itself constitutes support of the program. Just because we choose to not attend a game that offers little to no entertainment value doesn't mean we are taking the team for granted or are 'spoiled' fans.

If you base this on just this game, you should back away from the keyboard. If it's on the season so far, I believe there were some that had too higher expectations and after the first 5 games, others bought in. A reality check was looming for both the players and fan base. I've been going to the games regularly since the early 70s and some games before that. I felt this team was high on talent, low on D-I experience, especially with those players who would be key to higher success (McDuffie, Shamet, Reaves, Willis, and Smith). I've also been a little disappointed with some of those whose D-I experience would be key to getting the others through tough opponents (Kelly, Brown, and Frankamp).

I thought this team would win 23-24 games pre any post season. I've seen why I might have under shot the wins from our new players may do and why I may be on target due to the more experienced players. I do have high hopes for this team .

Just some comments I read after a couple of losses to Top 20 Teams. I remember the slow slide into the abyss in the 90s that escalated when Fogler left I still think we will have a good team this year and next yeR could be a special year. We have good athletes, a good coach/staff and I'm thankful enough to allow Ggg the time to work his magic. I always thought it would take time to replace Fred and Ron. I always thought that we would have ebbs and flows and we would develop slowly. Our losses to UL and MSU are not bad losses even though we were hopeful. There is a fine line between winning and losing at the Div. 1 level.

I felt bummed when he benched our floor general Griffin. It felt to me like he was trying to reign in WSU's outlaw image. Not just with that incident either.

Gaylon Nickerson (NBA), John Cooper, Paul Guffrovich and Joe Griffin were all good players who signed with Eddie.

He actually did an excellent job recruiting at Vanderbilt (look at the roster on his Sweet Sixteen team in his 4th and final season and you will see 4 of his 5 double digit scorers were recruited by him).

At South Carolina, he achieved Top 5 rankings in the AP in his 4th season and 5th season. Asserting he simply road coattails his entire career is incorrect.

He deserves a colossal **** sandwich for recommending Cohen to fill his shoes, but the myth that he couldn't recruit and left the cupboard bare has been both persistent and wrong.

I think you are right upon second thought. He committed in the Spring but shortly before Gene was let go, is that right? IIRC he had grade issues and it dampened interest in his junior year and the first semester of his senior year, then there was a feeding frenzy where we beat out Tulsa for his commitment.
