Those are the EXACT words I said to my wife after the game! It was our first time to a game this year, and I have several observations...first, an aside...police writing tickets on the street just east of the cemetery

for parking BEFORE 7???Really? Officer told me 'the residents have complained....'.....wow.

Anyway....SNU played hard...guards were their strength...big men were D-2 bigs, but guards were quick and poised.

I thought Zach 'got the message', and played very focused, and Shaq was just too much for anything SNU had...thought we looked slow in many cases. Wish Conner would just shoot off the dribble more often...he has always struck me as the kind of player who needs to think less....Simon played VERY hard.....CJ needs court time, but a pretty athletic specimen
    ...
I got home and watched end of Duke/MSU and shook my head a bit because I didn't feel that the team I JUST saw would give MSU much trouble...and yet, Shockers COULD have easily taken that game.

Oh, well, fun night...I guess I don't get caught up as much in grading the crowd and their enthusiasm...if the team plays aggressively then the crowd will follow.

I hope 3G continues to bring Shaq off the bench. For some reason, he seems to play better in this role. Willis played with good energy, I thought.

I am not too worried about the sellout streak because I am more concerned about butts in the seats. A "sellout" is meaningless to me if there are sizable blocks of open seats. The last two senior days are about the only games I can recall in the last couple of seasons where the place was completely full.

Besides, there are 300+ schools around the country that would love to be 70 seats away from a sellout for a weeknight game against a D-2 opponent. Nothing to see here.

Didn't bother to watch online, wouldn't have gone to the game if I lived in town with season tickets. D2 game in late November doesn't cut it. 150+ rpi teams are available.

We sound like a spoiled fan base of millennials who need a shake up. This began happening in small amounts in the late 1980's too followed by the decade of the 90's where Shocker basketball became a giant black hole. That would shake us up to a new reality and long for the days when we had winning basketball again.

Did anyone catch this at about the under 8 timeout last night. Jimmy John's is Freaky Fast!!!

I have never seen this in my 11 years of coming to WSU games!

Sounds like a correlation between quality matchups and attendance. I understand Duke isn't coming to our gym, but Horizon, Mountain West, A10, etal teams would do home and homes.

Do you know that for sure? Everyone is trying to balance out their schedules. It may not be as easy as you think.

I don't have firsthand experience in scheduling, but I know of one MW team that tried to schedule home and home with us and we wanted 2 for 1. I would rather play D2 than 250 rpi games as they don't count, but if I were a season ticket holder I would rather have one less game than a MES or Southern Nazarene on my schedule. That is Barry Hinson style.

HCGM said that they were not. Said the only D-1 schools we could get would have hurt our RPI.

I am assuming he means without a return game. Otherwise color me very dubious.

No. At least not yet. The Storm had a weak front court.

Neither Daishon nor Conner were much of a force tonight.

What does any of it mean? I guess that's why 3G makes the big bucks.

3G said in the post-game that they only practiced once since returning from the Bahamas and it wasn't that good. They played better tonight than they did in that one practice.

At times I didn't think our defense was that good but credit SNU they did have some good quickness.

Was glad to see 15-20 (75%) from the line No reason this team should be around that mark consistently from the line.

Time to get focused and finish off the non-con with good solid fundamental and team oriented play.

First true road game of the season coming up.
Frankly, I thought I'd see a lot more fire by the team and it got worse the 2nd half. Our 1, 2, and 3s scoring 60+ plus points only proved that the Storm's front and wing were weak and our guards knew it. I wondered how a 4 on 4 of just the guards would go.

That was the quietest, most Creighton-like crowd I've witnessed at CKA in a long, long time. It sounded like everybody's dogs died tonight or something. But given the hype and expectations of the Bahamas, its play and result, and the opponent here tonight it was a recipe for a library type environment. Still pretty pathetic. And the sell out streak is gone. I guess there's more bandwagon in this fanbase than we'd like to believe. I think a lot of people take this program for granted. Whatever.
Fixed. Turned around your paragraphs so the first will help answer the second along with the next 2 quotes.

                            Mostly agree.

Totally disagree with the first sentence, but you must have those that don't. A big yes to the rest of the post.

If you base this on just this game, you should back away from the keyboard. If it's on the season so far, I believe there were some that had too higher expectations and after the first 5 games, others bought in. A reality check was looming for both the players and fan base. I've been going to the games regularly since the early 70s and some games before that. I felt this team was high on talent, low on D-I experience, especially with those players who would be key to higher success (McDuffie, Shamet, Reaves, Willis, and Smith). I've also been a little disappointed with some of those whose D-I experience would be key to getting the others through tough opponents (Kelly, Brown, and Frankamp).

I thought this team would win 23-24 games pre any post season. I've seen why I might have under shot the wins from our new players may do and why I may be on target due to the more experienced players. I do have high hopes for this team as the season progresses.

You base this on THIS game?? We shot 44.4%.

This. There has to be a good number of quality non-P5 schools that would do H/H. We are not in a conference that can afford us to load up the non-con with push over home games. I would have much rather had another good away game this year with them returning to WSU next year than what we had last night.
