For the image of the team, this is probably worse than a player committing credit card fraud, or some larceny, or smoking weed.

Everybody not rooting for Indiana pretty much laughed at Bobby Knight and thought he was a real jerk.

Earlier it was mentioned that there was a comment from an oficial who claimed 30 years of experience. Referees would remember. They will. They always do. They remember facial expressions and body language. Wamt to push the button of every official? Show a lack of respect for them. Referees have enough trouble keeping the game and the players under control and really clamp down when they feel the game might be getting our of hand. They're going to be on Marshall to show that they are in charge and aren't about to allow him to blow up.

Someone replied by saying (basically) "You mean refs are going to call teh game unfairly because of something that happened in Canada in an exhibition game?" Yes, they will.

This is a pretty good example of what happens when you get a coach in who has absolutely ZERO accountability. No one in the athletic department to tell him different. He has been given the "okay" from past Athletic Directors to walk all over Doug Elgin... (I have my complaints about Doug, but still). The last piece of the tirade was him clearly trying to push a coach into the ref. That's just not cool. Call it PC if you want, old heads...but this is 2016 and coaches can't do that. Period. Watch for every sports anchor to rip us on this tonight.

HCGM was mostly angry about the team's performance and the ref was an easy target for HCGM and our fans. The only person we should be discussing is HCGM. Especially since the ref has no ability to impact WSU.

Maybe this will be the master stroke to building a team identity and unity and this outburst was nothing but a show. That is the the optimistic view, but it can't be proven one way or another.

We've gotten hosed on officiating before. Many times before in games slightly more important that August exhibitions in Canada. My thing is why was nobody complaining about the "dangerous" Canadian behavior until after the fact? Now, it's being used as a defense for an incredibly juvenile and unjustifiable reaction to a shitty call on Zach Brown. Are you kidding me?

You're telling me if Dan Muller did this you would be on his side? Or Bill Self? Or any human being on the planet?

This kinda thing just makes me love Gregg more, but I'm a baseball guy. As for if Self did this, I'd make fun of him, I hate Self. I love Gregg, that's the difference, he's my guy so I defend him.
