"Officially, it’s just an exhibition game. The experience for Augusta University, however, will be very much real. At 3 p.m. Saturday, the Jaguars men’s basketball team will tip off its 2016-17 season with a tune-up in front of a traditionally sold-out crowd at Wichita State. Augusta fans are excited enough about it to plan viewing parties around town at Village Deli, Wild Wing Cafe and Southbound Smokehouse.
Dip Metress is excited about what it will mean to his players. “In our 51 years of having a basketball program we’ve never played in an environment like this,” said the 13-year Jaguars coach. “We’re on our way to the Death Valley of basketball.”..."
