I agree with this I think. I am fairly confident you get in with a loss even though Palm does not agree and even though you will only have 2 top 100 RPI wins and will only be the 2nd team to ever get at large with only 2 RPI top 100 wins because of Kenpom and your long winning streak.

Vandy would be the first ever 15 loss team to get an at large bid.

It's kind of funny how Palm and Lunardi are polar opposites on some of these teams with Wichita State and Vanderbilt being 2 of the big ones.

Palm does not even have Vanderbilt on his bubble he has them way out.
That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. If that's something the committee also believes, then this whole process is morbidly wrong. That in no way, shape or form makes any sort of rational sense.

      Absolute horseshit.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

      • So if we (Wichita St.) were 17-14 (like Vanderbilt) and had as many quality wins as Vanderbilt supposedly has...would we (Wichita St.) be talked about of being awarded an AT-LARGE invite??????? I'd like to ask Katz that question and see his umm-mmm reaction.

        • We need to take all the opinion and emotion out of this. Even if committee is looking at metrics they still make a human decision. Someone mention the conference champ and the tournament champ each get a bid. That's 64 of course you'll get some overlap so those spots will be given to at large teams. You can even keep the 68 team play in format to offer more at large bids. There. No more thinking. You want in? Win games. Seems simple enough.

Who cares if you're top 10 kenpom and ranked (WSU) or ran the table at home and 17-1 in Valley with 27 rpi (ILSU) when you can win TWO games outside your home arena ALL YEAR and sport an 80 RPI?!

                • I'm curious.

Had we beat Louisville, Michigan State and OSU, but lost 4 or 5 games in the Valley would we be better off? Sounds like we would be...

CBS should be embarrassed for this clown.

If any shenanigans do take place, they need to be happening to the Burds not us.
