  • Excellent write up. Watch the video from that link. Dang. I'd take Ron with the first pick after that analysis.

They did screw up and say he's only been to the ncaa tournament 3 times. But maybe it was produced before March.

    • Draft day is here. Chad Ford's final rankings of the Top 100 prospects place Ron at #61 and FVV at #62. Very, very little movement over the last 2 months.

Both of our guys have a coin flip's chance at being selected this evening. Best of luck to both Ron and Fred.

      • I think there is a chance Ron and Perry go late 2nd, but.............

        • I hope they all 3 get drafted, but I'm more interested in where they are 6 months from now than 24 hours from now. Ron and Fred will both make some NBA team better just for having them. I can't say as much about Perry, because I've not been around to see what he brings day in and day out.

Agreed. At this stage, they've either impressed someone or not. Late second round or undrafted, they will have to rely on someone's gut feel and willingness to offer a short contract, and that is regardless of draft position.

Couldn't agree more. And drafted or not, they should both be on someone's summer league team, which may give them the best chance to impress against some NBA level competition.

              • Not sure whose preditions were being read on local radio this morning, but they had Fred at #56, Seldon (I think) at $60, Ellis at #64 and Ron at #70.

                • It's so hard to tell. Between all the foreign guys we haven't heard of, the draft and stash guys, the analytics versus statistics versus actual ability, it's a crap shoot. And it's quite possible that some teams could pass on a player, just because they think they can pick him up as a free agent.

                    Crazy.

                    • Poeltl went #9. Is this more of a potential pick or is he really that good?

He was just playing at Hartman Arena in front of a 100 or so people earlier this year.

$60 for Selden is too much.

                          • Remember when FVV and Baker outplayed nearly every player taken in front of them in the draft? Wade Baldwin… sheesh.

Always reminds me of Murry absolutely crushing Klay Thompson in the NIT semis as well.

Defense and a well-rounded game isn't the ticket to the NBA.
