Aargh, I tend to agree with your ideas on player options. Off the tape on Willis I would think he is a natural 4. In our offense we will certainly post him up at times, he is quick and smooth on the block. He also showed a strong mid-range jump shot, and split the post double team to explode to the basket for the dunk. This makes me feel that he can play the 4 perimeter spot in our 4 out 1 in offense. Will these skills transfer to Division I competition?
Rashard Kelly is the main returner at that position and made strides to develop into a perimeter player. Looks more comfortable in this role as a sophomore. Like his strength and athletic ability.
Eric Hamilton has ideal weight, mobility, and size for the 4. As others have noted he shoots well from 3. Wildcard that should not be counted out. Shot selection and passing skills need some developing.
McDuffie iS obviously skilled enough to play the 4. Makes no difference on offense, just means he guards a bigger player on defense and the line up just gets smaller. He did not have the ideal weight to play the position last season.
The good news is Marshall plays a big rotation of players. Let the best player win the position.
