That being said, I'll say 2 things. First, discussing ranking the roster is kind of silly at this point. Even with removing Ty, there's nothing saying that's going to be the roster next fall (and I'd wager it will in fact be different if for no other reason that since HCGM arrived it's always changed from this date).

And 2nd, even ignoring the issue of trying to rank a guard over a post, which is all but impossible, the only thing you have right is Zach Bush.
Yes the question was directed at you WuDrWu and was generated due to our exchanges on the Starting Point Guard Thread (particularly post 118 by you). Clear to me that one of us had a better understanding of what was unfolding in the Shocker Locker Room.

Please explain your reasoning for making IMO such a confounding statement "...discussing ranking the roster is kind of silly at this point." At what time do you think discussing the Shocker Roster would be appropriate. My business training instructs that early preparation is an essential element for achieving performance goals; thus I always prepared and adjusted such rankings throughout the performance period.

Your second "thing" indicates to me that you are unfamiliar or lack experience with the concept of parallel rankings of individual team members. One does not need to be a math major or possess a fundamental understanding of Wyllie's Algorithm to understand that parallel ranking members of a team's roster places a value (using criteria identified by the coach or whomever) on each member of the roster regardless of the position they play on the court.

I checked, and yes both Gregg and I are unfamiliar with Wyllie's Algorithm. He suggests discussing it with other Carnegie Mellon eggheads while ****ing yourselves. Just sayin.

You can discuss the roster anytime you want, it's a free country. All I was saying was wait until it's settled. I guess that went over both your head and Wyllie's.

ROFLMFAO, the response I anticipated; at least you performed a google search and learned of the linkage between Wyllie and Carnegie Mellon. And, as I anticipated, you failed to grasp the linkage to how basketball coaches could apply this algorithm to improve the performance of their team(s). My wife's 103 year old grandmother had two sayings that apply to you "Ignorance is Bliss" and "You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink."

IMO the value of Shockernet is that it provides a point of contact for Shocker fans to exchange ideas and opinions regards where the Shockers are today and where they are headed in the future. By establishing a ranked order of current and potential future roster members, fans such as we, can successfully anticipate what the coaching staff (HC3G and his staff included) is likely to do with the roster. This explains why I was able to predict TT's departure and you were not!

May I offer you a bit of unsolicited advice regards your use of the axiom "...over your head" - please search for and adopt a different phrase you can use that does not clearly demonstrate your failure to accurately express your superior intellect.

Are you his mother? Nothing dipshit in my post; if he makes moronic posts on Shockernet he should be called on them.

I guess I missed the moment where you became an ass. Why on earth would you think that there was a reason to bring your points from the PG thread into this one and act like an arrogant ass about it?

I enjoy talking about the future and rosters. I don't think coaches rank players in that way. They use a depth chart. It does you know good to rank 12 players ahead of a 13th if the 13th player is the only one capable of playing center. This discussion makes no sense to me, and then to call someone out for not participating in that discussion is one of the more douchey things I've seen recently.

                      • You guys care more about measuring your e-dicks than actually discussing things. Why does every DISCUSSION have to have a winner and a loser? Can't y'all just agree to disagree and be cordial?

You missed the moment because IMO it never happened; I am not the poster(s) who has resorted to witless hyperbole and name calling in an effort to make his point. If you think proving my point makes me an arrogant ass; I wonder what you would think I am if failed to prove my point?

I linked this thread to the Point Guard Thread as the two threads are IMO closely related and I wanted to use my rankings to illustrate to WuDrWu that it has merit in identifying what the Shocker coaching staff has in store for next years roster. If you see no value in parallel ranking players fine with me don't do it or use it. But why do you think that your disagreeing with my opinion gives you the right to make disparaging remarks about me?

IMO a parallel ranking of a team roster is simply another tool a coach can use in determining who plays and why - yes such an action will have a direct relationship to the coaches depth chart. For instance, using the ranking I offered early in this thread the starting five would be MM, LS, PA, CF and SM as these five players cover all five starting positions.

Your point is well taken, I will no longer participate in this exchange or defend my line of reasoning. To each his own!

Interesting because I also correctly anticipated the response from your wife's 103 year old grandmother last night when she screamed "That's only half way in??!!" while I discussed Doc's Algorithm of Willies with her.

My apologies @_kai_: When it's teed up like that, it must be punished.

Much like @Shocker1976:'s wife's 103 year old grandmother.
