Shox win any game against anyone if they shoot 40% from 3, period.
Shox beat anyone except elite opponents playing at the top of their game if they shoot 35% from 3. (37% last night + mediocre Vandy not even playing their best = 20 point win)
Shox play nailbiters shooting 30-35% from 3.
Shox lose from here on out shooting below 30% from 3.

The defense is as reliable as the sun rising in the east. Hit shots, win. Throw up bricks, lose. It is nearly that simple now.

I'm going out on a limb and predicting a 40%+ night from 3 and a win over Zona by 10. Last night's shooting was better, but the Shox are due to finally find a goal without a lid. Last night wasn't it. Maybe such a goal exists in Rhode Island.
What's the conglomerate of an elite team? Size? b12? Balls-out offense? Sky walkers?

But please, don't give me kenpom numbers (I said please)... Maybe an original observation outside of big Monday.

First of all, there were like half that many games played.

Second, in this case, the sample size is each team's number of games played. WSU's 1/33 (3%) is significantly different than Vanderbilt's 5/33 (15%).

I wonder if Mr Baker has any inside info on Tarczewski from the Pan Am games. Man that team could have used a real "assist guy". Wonder where they could've found one, hmmm. Do we get Bill Walton on the play by play maybe.:shame:

Can you offer an original observation that isn't clouded by your own personal biases? Your infatuation with coming after Jamar and myself any time we post thoughts, which are backed up empirically and not simply based on our perspective of events, is mind-boggling.

Not gonna lie, the "Any Before Picture in a Rogaine commercial" was pretty good for Conner. Haha.

third of all, recalculate...351 D1 teams that avg 30 games = 10,530 games played, so if by half as many you mean more than 10k then you would be correct. Fourth of all, I bet that most teams would correlate to WSU and win more when they shoot better....."c'mon guys it's all ball bearing now... perhaps you need a refresher course"

I'm getting on plane to Vegas, you guys figure it all out....Go Shox,

Did those D1 teams all play high school teams for all their games? Each game requires 2 teams.

                    (351/2)*31= 5440

Not to be a stickler about math, but since 2 teams play in each game you need to divide your end result by 2... Resulting in roughly 5k games.

Edit: Cdizzle beat me to it.

I tend to agree; the guys are pumped and ready. Zona will score in the 60's; if they get frustrated with that, and become even more lax on defense, we could have a big night!

You might want to stick to the subjective, emotional arguments, and leave the math-y stuff alone.

I told my wife a variation of this last night, saying I hoped we were still partaking of his consultation.

Only one team has scored 60+ points against WSU since January, and that was in a super scrub-a-licious 99-68 beatdown of MSU.
