I was at the game and checked the ESPN replay when I got home...that didn't make it to air. Wonder if they got it on the scoreboard?

It made it onto the scoreboard on multiple occasions. When it originally happened I thought he was doing some alternate version of slap the floor defense. After seeing the replay I realized it was a clear "let your nuts hang" move. Double thumbs up on that one!

Watching the replay now. I'm in the middle of that dumb run in the first half. Wow. The one-handed alley-oop to MM and the FVV nut-hanging 3. Just freaking wow.

I customarily like to go read opponents boards and newspapers after a game, but these criminals aren't worth the effort. I could not possibly care less. The only thing ISUR had to do with today was that they were the sorry bastards in the way of our celebration.

I am of the school of thought that the margin of victory was due to our getting the seniors their justly deserved in-game recognition. Had this been a week ago, I believe they are the one team 3G may have pounded by 40+.

We were up about 25 before the seniors just started playing around.

I seem to remember a "T him up" chant coming from my section during tonight's contest. Ok I'm fibbing a little. It was just me hoping to egg the little bastard on. The fact is Muller has to be the whiniest coach to disgrace the valley ( perhaps with the exception of Dana Altman).

Revenge is best served with roasted Redbird. How sweet it is. Actually, it was kind of an odd game. Their was a 5:30 stretch late in the first half where the Shocks went on a 20-2 run and their was a 3:30 stretch midway through the 2nd half where the Shocks went on a 11-0 run. So the Shocks won those 9 minutes by a score of 31-2. Illinois State won the other 31 minutes 56-43.

I have to give Illinois State some credit. They are probably the only team in the Valley that can match up to the Shocks physically and athletically.

If the Shocks had shot the ball evenly moderately good from the perimeter and from the FT line this would have beend a 30+ point win.

Thanks, kudos and congratulations to Fred, Ron, Evan, Anton and Bush. But let's just make this the beginning of a really, really special ending.

You're actually being a little generous to the Jailbirds, '72 -- remember, they won the last two minutes 9-0 after it was really long since over, and with the help of two FTs Baker gave them so the clock would stop and a few ovations could be handed out. So they won 29 minutes of the game 47-43, even with the Shocks bricking threes the whole second half. As you say, with a little shooting by WSU, and with 40 minutes of play instead of 38, it could easily have been another of those 30 point blowouts.

I wonder what WSU's kenPom rating would be if they didn't have so much garbage time? I don't know that their rank would necessarily change, because the handful of teams ahead of them also have enough one-sided games that their opponents get the benefit of some garbage minutes to make the scores closer. But I'll bet their AdjO and AdjD totals would be better.

Bottom line is that I still think the Shocks, especially the healthy Shocks with everyone back (except Shamet, obviously), are probably even better than their KenPom scores would indicate. And the way Grady is finishing his season is potentially huge as they continue, too.
