Unless you bring back Quick-Change or the dogs chasing frisbees, I don't want to see some kid airball a free-throw or some blind-folded shmuck wander around the court. We, as a united Shocker Nation, should be focused on creating an intimidating atmosphere for opponents!
You know why there isn't any halftime entertainment anymore? $$$$$$$$$$
Talk about a sleeper with the names thing and the dysfunctional cheerleading team. I'm sorry it's just bad.
Putting all the promotions at halftime would make too much sense for this department of geniuses.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Move the games to Intrust. :-) The whole thing at Koch is 'off' right now... the videos are poorly timed, the music poorly timed, the bad needs to kill the 'War' song or save it for when the W is in the bag... I do like the crowd singing the anthem. And geezus old people, quit yelling at those of us that DON'T want to sit on our ass to watch a 2 hour game.

Does anybody know the cost for one of these promos? I would gladly contribute $100 toward a concerned citizens purchase of a spot. That may be naively short of a drop in the bucket, I dunno. "This roar and band number supported by your friends at Shockernet"One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

My unorganized thoughts:
Halftime will never be a substitute time for ads because so many people aren't paying attention. No advertiser will want to pay for that.
It's easy to keep the crowd energized through a 30-second timeout. A full/media timeout would have to be carefully orchestrated to either maintain or get the energy back by the time play resumes.
This might cost a little revenue, but limit promos to first-half media timeouts.
In the 2nd half, utilize a game situation standard for whether a media timeout includes advertiser audio or the pep band. If the game is within two possessions or the Shocks are on a run (harder to standardize, but it can be done), then cue the band and include only visual ads. If the game is ho-hum, tell us it's 56 and calm outside when it's really 19 and windy. Whatever.
Get rid of the Dance/Kiss cams.

Some place do the promos descretly to get them in, while the crowd is still going and the music/band is playing.
Only here do they seem to do the "okay STFU and watch these two year olds try to dunk" or "hey, I know the crowd is loud but time for weather!"
WSU had a position available for basically an Assistant Director of Gameday Experience. We'll see if anything changes or they stay stuck in the mid-major mindset. The Assman

My dad came to his first game in a couple of years. He made multiple negative comments about the timeout promotions.
I believe soccer has provided a good model for how to attract marketing $$ without ruining the actual game atmosphere.
I guarantee Shockernet (you can take my guarantees to the bank) the marketing department could attract the same total revenue while applying restraint and creativity.

2 more points;
A). Can they not come up with any other games besides the FT, 3PT, HC shooting game? I know the other ones suck, but at least they are different.
B) Seriously, what's with the no halftime entertainment? High schools do a better job. Very subpar decision by WSU.The Assman
