My team was getting throttled and it's a long trip back to Illinois.

Didn't want to miss HC3GM's post game interview and it takes time to hook my antenna to a flag pole with the battery cables so I can hear the bad headset.

Just curious how many were left at the end and what did they announce? My channel on U-verse cut off right at 10:00 and said this game was blacked out. I was hoping to see the recognition but glad I at least got to watch til then!

I'd estimate 6-7k actually in their seats at the final buzzer. Maybe another 1k filling the steps.

Announced Evan's 100th win and 90.9% career winning percentage.
Announced WSU now holds the nation's longest home court winning streak.
Announced Marshall taking over as all-time wins leader at WSU.

Leaving happens at every sporting event I've ever been at. Doesn't matter what it is. Those diehard fans will stay, those solely at the event for entertainment value or to keep up with the jones will leave and it doesn't matter how much the diehards complain it's not going to change.

I was actually impressed with how loud it got, even with the stadium half empty.

Unless you lock the doors ... then it will change .... until the fire Marshall shuts it down.

What would have been wrong with Don Hall saying something with one minute remaining? “Everyone, please remain in your seats for several special announcements immediately following the game.” Actually, the announcement could have been made at the under 4:00 time-out when the game was basically over. Another 2,000-3,000 might have stayed around knowing they might miss something. Sometimes our marketing department is “aWSUm”, while other times they leave me scratching my head and saying…

This thread was clearly intended for entertainment value. Nothing wrong with that.

If you want to pause for a second of serious conversation, let's not start judging fandom based on who stays for the final 2 minutes. There are many parents/grandparents of young children who are more diehard in getting to 95% of the game than many of those who are there for every second. Someone who drives an hour or more each way and wants to beat the traffic still commits much more time than someone who lives 5 minutes from campus. Some of those you see leaving early you will also see again in St. Louis, or wherever the Shox are in late March.

Every situation is different. Please don't make judgments when you simply don't have enough information to do so.

Just a little pet peeve of mine. That's all.

The couple next to us left early. They have two kids that are 8 or 9. It was 10 o'clock and a school night, fwiw.

I'm entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. I said nothing wrong or against anyone person.
