Those are some nice satin shorts Texas Tech has. They should bring those back on Throwback day. Is that a belt on Armstrong's shorts? Hilarious.

Warren Armstrong and Tekele Cotton would make a good pair to start with.

As an example, Mo Evans and Jason Perez played two seasons together at WSU. Off the top of my head, and think Jason averaged about 14 and 16 in those two years. Mo averaged like 13 and 23. The Shockers were a .500 team. Mo then transferred to Texas where he averaged about 15 points in his senior year on a quality team.
Jason Perez on this WSU team might average around 11 ppg. We would consider him equivalent to Cotton perhaps. Excellent player? Yes! Special? Absolutely! All-American? Nope.Livin the dream

Their career stats are pretty comparable (Ron's are through the Indiana State game):
Points Per Game: Jason 15.7; Ron 13.2
Rebounds Per Game: Jason 5.6; Ron 4.0
Assists Per Game: Jason 2.6; Ron 2.7
Steals Per Game: Jason 1.9; Ron 1.3
Blocks Per Game: Jason 0.17; Ron 0.60
Overall FG%: Jason 44.9%; Ron 43.5%
3-Pointt FG%: Jason 37.6%; Ron 37.6%
Free Throw %: Jason 78.0%; Ron 80.1%
You would expect Jason to have a higher scoring average because his team relied on him more to carry the scoring load.
I suppose the big difference between Ron and Jason is in number of games won although that is a team statistic more than an individual statistic.
Both are great Shocker players. Ron probably the better athlete. Maybe Ron is the better of the two but the gap is not exactly the grand canyon. It hasn't hurt Ron to have Fred running the show at the point. I suspect Jason would have enjoyed playing with Fred very much.Last edited by 1972Shocker; January 19, 2016, 08:34 PM.

That was about it. No Nike. No Adidas. No Reebok. Etc. Your choice was pretty much white Converse All-Stars or black Converse All-Stars and I don't remember many teams wearing the black shoes.
I remember getting my 1st pair when I started playing high school ball. No way I could make the team unless I had a pair of Converse All-Stars! My parents thought the $12.50 or whatever the cost at that time was pretty outrageous.Last edited by 1972Shocker; January 19, 2016, 08:32 PM.

IMO, Ron is the better player.

After Maurice left, the Shocks roster forced Jason to play the 4. That was the year he averaged over 20 PPG, finished second in MVC POY and made MVC First Team. Any minutes Evan is getting this year or past, Jason would have definitely gotten, probably taken some from others, and given you all BBIQ and toughness you'd want, plus double digit scoring.Livin the dream
