His reasoning is silly. But what else is new.
Can't wait to see wsu crush more power 5 dreams in the dance.

    • There is not one single reason to put Valporaiso or Monmouth in over us. Not one. The ENTIRE argument against us is that we "don't have enough quality wins." Which, in my opinion is just power conference bias. It rewards Texas Tech and Oregon State not for being good but for having the opportunity to play more high quality games, because it is a hell of a lot easier to get 6 quality wins when you get 10+ chances in your conference alone.

But back to the other mid-major competitors. They don't have better resumes than us. Period. They are lower in RPI for a reason. They don't have a ton more quality wins, and they both have 3+ horrible losses. Saying they should be ahead of us is talking out of both sides of your mouth. Essentially, they are arguing that we not only have a bad resume, we are WORSE than our resume. And that is enough bull to encourage a stock market. Because we are, by any real metric, a much better team than the resume we assembled.

At this point, anyone counting us out of the tournament is doing it for page views and clicks.

      • I loved how he blew off Freds injury, but if you bring up unc loss to uni he says, well paige was injured. Whatever. They are working hard to keep a likely 10 or 11 seed out of the dance. Ain't gonna happen.

        • Palm updated his Bracket this morning. He slid Syracuse out which moves WSU up to the first of the "last four out". The funny part is that he moved George Washington IN to the bracket. GW which according to bracketmatrix is in 2 brackets out of 99. GW that is 3-5 vs Top 50, 4-6 Top 100, 3 Losses out side the top 125 (126, 191, 203). RPI 62, SOS 124, Non Conf SOS of 241.

Yet they get in before WSU ... They lost to St. Louis ...

          • As of this morning Lunardi has WSU an 8 seed. Long ways from out.

And ZERO non-con road games. They should, and will, be graded down for that, just not enough.

                  • On Mike and Mike this morning, Joe Castiglione and Joe Lunardi were guests. Mr. Castiglione is the chairman of the NCAA Selection Committee.

The selection process was discussed and surprisingly to me, Wichita State Shockers were discussed to make a point.

Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic react to NFL free agency and speak with ESPN's Joe Lunardi, NCAA selection committee chairman Joe Castiglione and more.

If you listen online, see Hour 4.

The interview begins around the 2:30 +/- minute mark.

We've been mentioned everywhere and every time... Scott Van Pelt and Joey Brackets mentioned us... The question asked most is which under seeded team can make a run, and Joey always answerers Wichita state, and sometimes mentions Texas, but he never has time to mention Texas because he has argue for Wichita State even making the field... So that takes up his entire five minute segment, he said it's common sense

Always good to have Lunardi on your side, he is usually spot on.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

                          But....

I thought no one cared if WSU made the tourney or not?!?!?!?!

Let's just say, people wouldn't be talking this much about UNI if they were on the bubble this year. #LeaveTheValley

                          • VCU and St. Bonaventure are both neck and neck with WSU right now. Both are worth watching over the next few days.

If either is upset in the quarterfinals (tomorrow), they should fall behind WSU, and probably fall all the way out of the field. This could be the moment where Jerry Palm is forced to put WSU back into his bracket as he currently has each of them in with WSU as his first team out.

If they both win tomorrow vs mediocre competition, they would be set to play each other on Saturday in the A-10 semifinals. I would expect the winner of that game to cement themselves ahead of WSU, while the loser would be squarely on the bubble. The good news is they are on the same side of the bracket and can't both reach the finals. Everyone always talks as if the bubble can only shrink due to upset winners of auto bids. In this case, the bubble will likely expand as there is much less than a 50% chance that both VCU and St. B get into the tournament. 90% of brackets currently show them both in, but at least one of them will be falling out of a good number of brackets in the next 24-48 hours.

I think the other Joe (Castiglione) offered some insight that continues to reinforce my belief that the Shox are in. Thanks for sharing the link.

Can't even win ONE game in their postseason tournament and they lose to freaking #183 TCU 67-62.

Let me guess. It doesn't matter, right?
